INTRODUCTION

Human resource is considered to be the most valuable asset in any organization. It is the sum-total of inherent abilities, acquired knowledge and skills represented by the talents and aptitudes of the employed persons who comprise executives, supervisors and the rank and file employees. It may be noted here that human resource should be utilized to the maximum possible extent, in order to achieve individual and organizational goals. It is thus the employee’s performance, which ultimately decides, and attainment of goals. However, the employee performance is to a large extent, influenced by motivation and job satisfaction

The term relates to the total relationship between an individual and the employer for which he is paid. Satisfaction does mean the simple feeling state accompanying the attainment of any goal; the end state is feeling accompanying the attainment by an impulse of its objective. Job satisfaction does mean absence of motivation at work. Research workers differently described the factors contributing o job satisfaction and job dissatisfaction.

The survey made regarding the job satisfaction in BSNL will facilitate and enables the management to know the perceptions and inner feelings regarding the job they are performing on day-to-day basis. The term job satisfaction reveals and focuses on the likes and dislikes of the employees of BSNL. In this particular study the researchers tries to identify the causes for satisfaction and dissatisfaction among the employees. So this is the most effective and selective instrument for diagnosing and peeping into the employee’s problems.

Job satisfaction survey can give the most valuable information the perceptions and causes. For satisfaction/dissatisfaction among the employees attitude towards job satisfaction may be either positive or negative. This positive feeling can be re-in forced and negative feelings can be rectified. This survey can be treated as the most effective and

    Job satisfaction means the feelings and attitudes of individual about their work, (Armstrong, 2003). Sometime individual feel about their job on different aspect such as employee’s emotional response to his work environment, (Dole and Schroeder, 2001). Job satisfaction as an employee’s his or her evaluative, cognitive and affective reactions with job,(Williams e, al, 2001). Job satisfaction are divided on two component (intrinsic and extrinsic).the intrinsic satisfaction refer to internal characteristics of a person such as utilization of skills, the volume of job complexity and control of opportunity, extrinsic satisfaction refer to physical facets such as salaries, work and benefits, (Cowin, 2008).the motivational factors such as intrinsic and extrinsic they are affected the level of job satisfaction, including the support of supervision, relationship with co-workers and the degree to which employees succeed, (Armstrong, 2003).There money factor that effect the job satisfaction such as salary, satisfaction with work contribution, supervision quality of work life, organizational environment and organizational commitment, (Lille et al,1998). Job satisfaction has direct effect on turnover and indirect effect on organizational commitment, (Blou, 1987). The significance of prevence research studies investigate the evidence of a strong negative relationship of job satisfaction and turnover, (Mannherim et al, 1997). The job satisfaction and organizational commitment shown the different in relation to individual attitudes about their work. Job satisfaction focused on individual response to their job such as supervision, salary and condition of work, and organizational commitment is a global in relation to individual attitude, such as values and goals of organization, (Mowday, 1979).…
