EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

This project is related to Human resource management. Main objective of this project was to visit an organization and conduct an interview from the HR manager and ask him about their HRM strategies, plans and processes and then relate the answers with the basic concepts of HR in our course. The organization we selected for this purpose was PEARL CONTINENTAL HOTEL.

We got all the information about their HR system through the interview. We prepared a questionnaire based on 25 questions like, what is the recruitment and selection procedure of the pearl continental. What are their HR strategies? What facilities they are providing to their employees? What are there work force factors? How they provide training and development programs to their employees? How they provide orientation to the new employees? What is the promotion policy of pearl continental? What is the performance appraisal system?

In this project we have mentioned all the information about the Human recourse management systems of Pearl Continental Hotel of Lahore.

INTRODUCTION OF PEARL CONTINENTAL

Everybody is familiar with the name of Pearl Continental. It has a well known and established position in the hotel industry.

Presently, Hashwani’s or Hashoo Group owns it. This group has maintained and improved the position of Pearl Continental. Initially, Pearl Continental was started with a title of PSL (Pakistan Service Limited). An organization named as Intercontinental, which was consisted of PIA & Intercontinental group. At that time, Hashoo Group had a major share in International Group and so they played an influential role for the betterment of Pakistan Services Limited (PSL) Intercontinental management was given with this opportunity to operate this hotel (PSL) on contract basis. In 1967, Intercontinental was offered with this contract to manage the business of this hotel.
