In health and social care the recruitment and selection process is that, initial employment is conditional upon the provision of a satisfactory criminal records certificate of a level appropriate to the post as per the legislation requirements. All staff are required to consent to subsequent criminal records checks from time to time during employment as deemed appropriate by me. In the event that such certificate/s are not supplied employment with us will be terminated. During employment staff are required to immediately report to me any convictions or offences with which they are charged, including traffic offences. As an organisation using the criminals records bureau disclosure service to assess the suitability of applicants for positions of trust, I and my company comply fully with the CRB Code Of Practice regarding the correct handling, use, storage, retention and disposal and disposal of disclosures and disclosure information. We also comply fully with its obligations under the Data Protection Act. Employment is also subject to references to the company receiving satisfactory references. If the employee is permitted to start work before all references or other checks have been obtained, should any of these references or checks prove unsatisfactory may be terminated in accordance with the company’s disciplinary rules and procedures and consulting with Peninsular HR who the company seeks specialist expertise in relation to recruitment and selection.
