Recruitment and Selection Strategies Recommendations
In order to achieve Mr. Stonefield’s business goal, we must formulate the appropriate recruitment and selection strategies for Landslide Limousines Services. We must keep in mind that the business is in Austin, Texas; 25 employees is required, the revenue for the first year will be -50,000.00, 5% in growth, and 10% turnover for this first year. All this information is a must in order to combine the best ideas to see which strategies are available for the business.
Demographic Changes
The city of Austin has become a Majority-Minority city. No ethnic or demographic group exists as a majority of the city’s population. The city’s Anglo share the total population has dropped below 50% and will stay there for the foreseeable future. The Hispanic share will probably be around a 35% increasing thru the years, Asians population also increased to 6.5%; a 3.2% increase since 1990; African Americans are shallowing in the population becoming a minority of 5 % ( www.autingtexas.gov, 2015).
Major demographic changes are expected to happen in Texas over the next 30 years. It is predicted that Texas population will increase 71.5% by 2014 with an extremely increase in Hispanic population due to immigration and high birth rates (Combs, 2013).
These demographic changes can be taken under consideration for the recruitment strategies, because Landslide Limousine Service can make a change in the city demographic by creating a diverse group of the minor’s ethnicities group. This can make a difference in how a Limousine company can be highlighted among others. With these factors, we suggest that Mr. Stonefield can plan to hire a new driver for every 5 client that repeat service in the company and it can possible that a 5% growth or higher over the next 5 years. Analysis of Projected Workforce

When owners of new businesses find themselves hiring their first employees, the bold decisions must be tempered with thoughtful planning for the future (Cascio, 2013). The branding of Landslide Limousines as all-women 's drivers will impact more than the population of job candidates. The criteria gleaned from the job analysis will provide specific abilities and behaviors that can be sought out (Cascio, 2013). The need to find the initial drivers and then to keep up with turnover and growth over the next five will force Mr. Stonefield to look beyond experienced, professional drivers. An established probationary period will best suit a small company that does not have the resources for an expensive consultant to recruit and select…
