Executive Summary:

Underground music refers to a variety of music subgenres that usually develop a subculture cult following despite their lack of mainstream appeal. The term “underground” is used to assert that the content of the music is illegal or controversial, as in the case of early 1990s death metal bands in the US. All of extreme metal is considered underground music for its extreme nature. Bangladesh is traditionally very rich in its musical heritage. As the time passes music finds a way of its own like our life style, culture and attitude. the timeline of underground music can be divided in 1971-1990, 1990-2000, 2000-Present. Underground music basically depends on instruments as most of their music is instrumental. The underground bands in our country are originally influenced by western underground culture and their mainstream music. The most popular and worldwide renowned bands are Metallica, Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, Megadeth, Pantera, Bullet For My Valentine, Children of Bodom, Cradle of Filth, Red Jumpsuit Apparatus, Green Days, Van Helen and so on.
