The study was basically conducted to find the customer preferences with regard to the retail loan schemes in Bangalore city. The methodology adopted for the study was through a questionnaire. The sample size was 100 and convenient sampling being the technique for collection of data from the respondents.
The findings of the study include providing good service in terms of notice of reminders of reminders of loan payment and grant of excess time in case of default other than low interest rate and longer repayment period is expected from respondents. The survey also suggest the brand name was an important factor considered respondents are not so much aware of the development credit bank.
The bank has been suggested to educate the constituents regarding the advantages and disadvantages of the loan schemes, relaxing the procedural factors wherever possible. It can also introduce certain discount schemes during festival season.
The bank having a history of almost seventy five years and being one of the oldest banks has a great future ahead, if it becomes more customer focused with adoption of the latest technology can pose a severe threat for all other banks in the industry.
