Learning Styles Essay
Many students learn in many different ways, like seeing, hearing, and experiencing things first hand. Basically, there are 3 different learning style: visual characteristics, auditory characteristics and kinesthetic characteristics.
You may have noticed the different struggles that some students have had in school. An auditory student like me may do quite well listening to the lectures, while a visual student appreciates having explanations displayed on an overhead projector. According to my own style, I have 4 ways that help me study easier such as take notes and record while teachers are talking, watch movie and listen to music, study in a small group and combine studying and listening music together.

My first way to study in class is take notes and record. In class, I usually write down something which is important to the lectures. It can be help when I couldn’t remember something. Take notes can help me improve listening and writing skill because I have to write and listen to the teacher at the same time. Take note make memorize longer ’cause when I wrote it down, I remembered it one time, and when I read it, like one more time I study it. And about the record, sometimes I recorded in class because it can save all of conversations, information which the teacher said and the others student’s ideas when they discussed. When some information were missing, I could turn them on and check again. One more thing that I like about the records is I could hear them anywhere, anytime, even I was sleeping.
The second way that helps me a lot in English is watch movie and listen to music. I often take 2 hours to watch movie and listen to music everyday. I can learn a lot of new words, grammar structures from lyrics of the songs and it is relaxed when I listen to music. And the movie may teach me something such as how to speak in the daily conversations, how to use some special sentences, speaking skills in English. I learn how to speak the right pronunciation and intonation from watch movie and listen to music everyday.
The third one which help me so much in almost all classes is study in group. You know that many brains are always better than a brain. Study in group make me and the other partners learn a lot because when we study in group, we will not give only one idea, but many ideas and we can choose the best idea that makes sense. Study in group can help me to improve the speaking and listening skills also, because I have to tell, analyze and discuss my ideas with the other ideas. It also make the problem, homework are solved more quickly and easily.
The last one which is I like the best - combine studying and listening music together. It sounds impossible but it’s possible. According to me, I like this one the most because it helps me so much while I’m studying. When I’m studying with music, I feel more comfortable and more concentrated. I just listen my favorite songs and some lyrics-free songs. It will make my mind relaxed and concentrate to solve difficult problems and homework. If I’m studying something is difficult without music, it’s hard for me to focus on that problem and just thinking about others stuff.
My own styles are little easy but it’s suitable and helps me a lot in classes even the daily life.

Remember, no one learning style is better than another; each has advantages and drawbacks, depending on what you're trying to learn. And I just gave you my own ways like some advices. But by adapting what you want to know to your learning style, you can create your own style to make learning easier and more interesting.

A learning style is the way in which a person processes new information. In the learning system there are three main types of learning which are visual, auditory, and kinesthetic. People may learn best by being taught with the three learning methods, but others may not. Visual learners are people who learn by seeing. These people learn more where there are images, graphs, diagrams, and colors involved. Visual learners are learners that first have to see what they are expected to know. Auditory learners learn best by hearing. Lastly, there is the kinesthetic learners, also known as tactile learners, those learners learn best by the physical activity. In a class the students’ way of learning might not be the way the professor…

Participating is one of the best ways to help students remember quickly what they have just learned in class. For example, students can try to answer the questions, raise their hand when the teacher asks for students to show their homework or write on the board, join in groups for discussing or doing assignments, and ask questions to make sense and solve what they misunderstand. The second simple skill is taking plentiful notes. To make good notes, students can use colorful pens or colorful notes for different information, and highlight the important words or ideas in notebooks and textbooks. When students are expected to focus on the lesson, using initials, shorthand, and abbreviated symbols are also helpful to follow the class. In addition, making mind maps is an effective way to capture all the knowledge after every lesson. Students can create a mind map on paper or in an app on a tablet; furthermore, students can find out several useful software tools, which are available to buy or for free, on the Internet such as the mind map software tool of Tony Buzan, Xmind and so on. To this end, students can increase their success by taking notes, participating in class, and creating effective mind…

Better study skills lead to better test-taking skill and of course better grades. The study habits and skills, that personally help me succeed are many. Before starting, there should always be an appropriate study environment. Personally that includes limited noise, a lot of sunlight, hard surface to write and a comfortable furniture. The first step is to make summary notes, choosing the most important ideas from my text book or lecture notes. Then organize these ideas in to a summary. Divide the information in to ideas, spreading them all over the page and then finding the relationship between them, to achieve this flashcards, mind maps, flow charts or tables. Studding by using summary notes can help you memorize, develop problem solving strategies and acquire more knowledge.…

    Study Strategies

The three study strategies that I chose are SQ3R, using flash cards and A.S.P.I.R.E. SQ3R stands for Survey, Question, Read, Recite and Review. First survey, or skim over the assignment, paying close attention to chapter headings, bold type, charts and summary. Next, question what is needed to understand and complete the assignment. Ask questions based on the preview of the assignment. Read and highlight important information and answer the questions. Recite answers to the questions and make notes. Review the material and questions frequently. I found that this method is almost identical to the PQRST method, which stands for Preview, Question, Read, Summarize and Test. I think I already use some of the steps in the SQ3R method. I have a tendency to skip over the reciting part of this method, which is shocking, considering my learning style is verbal. Flash cards are amazing!!! I can remember using flash cards back in grade school, all the way through high school. I even used flash cards in cosmetology school to learn the different nail diseases. I found it slightly more effective to have another person test me with the flash cards, rather than testing myself. With a verbal learning style, saying things out loud definitely helps me remember. I was doing some research online at studygs.net/aspire.html and found a study strategy called A.S.P.I.R.E.…
