The 12 steps of creative problem solving played a large role in resolving this situation even though we were unaware at the time. Working with the employees in a positive environment that’s team oriented was a difficult job. While using the “work to change mind-sets” step, to encourage them that it was a new day and definitely a different way of life in the workplace (Bethel University, 2013, p. 5). Implementing this new behavior that we all needed to obtain became easier as the days went by. Also, using the “change your routine” step gave the new supervisor a chance to work with each employee on a specific project that pertained to their position (Bethel University, 2013, p. 5). Also, this provided the employee and supervisor time to build the relationship needed to move forward. Another step used was “challenge the rules” by having the employees create ideas that would help their departments function more effectively (Bethel University, 2013, p. 5). The desire was to motivate the employee and give them a chance to have a say in how the process works. This step would boost the employee morale and show that we are taking their concerns into
