Interpersonal interaction– Involves all types of communication between people. All ethnic groups, work cultures and localities have their own ways to communicate Spoken Communication
The tone of voice you use when speaking to somebody can give away how you feel about them or what you are saying. Shouting at somebody suggests anger and speaking to somebody in a soft tone suggests kindness. Written Communication

Written communication is used when somebody needs to record something important to pass onto another person or so it can be stored and looked back at when needed. If people try to remember a conversation they had they will miss out key parts, however it is much more permanent and accurate when written. Telephones/mobile texting

These devices provide an effective way for people to stay in touch over a distance. It can also be helpful to those with hearing disability. Using a phone also means instant response and is extremely fast. Information Technology such as emailing

Emailing is widely used because it is very convenient and can be sent at any time of day and is a fast way of communicating with somebody. Other technology aids such as voice typing which is helpful for those with dyslexia because it turns their speech into writing. Flash cars and electronic picture books are also helpful ways for people with learning difficulties to communicate. Braille for those with vision problems

Braille is a system that consists of raised marks that the reader traces with their fingers. Braille can be printed from computers with a special device and therefore is moving with the times and becomes more accessible to those with vision problems. Signed language for those with hearing difficulties.

People who have hearing difficulties use their hands to communicate with others. Finger spelling can be used for words that have no sign or for words that may be misunderstood by the receiver. Art, Paintings photographs, sculptures, music and drama.

Art can be used to communicate somebody's emotions to the other person. Facial Expressions and body language
using your face is an important part of communication. Facial expressions often give away how you feel about what you are hearing from somebody or what you are telling them. Body language is also important. Having a relaxed posture or sitting with your arms crossed, may suggest that you are relaxed and can give people the impression you are not concerned about what they are saying. Leaning forward and making eye contact shows you are interested in what the person is saying.

Formal Communication
Formal communication is mostly used in a professional situation. When talking to a patient formal communication is usually expected. This shows the person you are respecting them and sounds professional. Another reason formal communication is expected, is to show the person you are taking them seriously and that you are interested in what they are saying. However in some cases using formal communication may lead to people assuming you are pretentious. Therefore in certain situations many healthcare workers change the way they talk to someone to show respect to each speech community, either non-verbally or verbally This can also make the person feel more comfortable if they feel you are speaking in the same language as them. This is often common with Doctors when explaining an illness using medical words.  

One-to-one communications should be started of with a positive greeting. This creates a good feeling...
