Storyboard and Evaluation of the “Rose Creations” Website

I decided to make a website for the company ‘Rose Creations’, Northern Irelands largest rose cultivator and vendor as the company manager had expressed to me that the company would like to expand their business and make it more widely accessible to their customers and those keen gardeners who had not yet stumbled upon their business. Rose Creations is a large gardening and cultivating centre on the main Saintfield Road in Carryduff, Co Down. My intention in creating a website will allow customers to view roses and care products that are available at Rose Creations from the comfort of their own home. The convenient website will allow our customers and our loyal local businesses to view the beautiful array of roses that are available for purchase at Rose Creations online giving them time to browse freely through all the different varieties of roses at their own leisure.
This will hopefully improve the overall business aspect of the company as it appeals to a wider customer market as anyone in the world can access the website and there is no time limit to viewing on the website as it is possible to view it both day and night due to the 24 hour access on the web.
I hope to achieve a website that will be user friendly and appealing to potential customers. To achieve this, the site will be consistent through out (font, colour schemes etc) to make users comfortable and get used to the layout of the site so they know where everything is. I will provide a ‘visually impaired page’ to cater for the needs of all our customers. To navigate around the website there will be a side menu with buttons for each page which will be visible at all times. A variety of media will also be included to make the website more interesting appealing.

The current site has some basic information that a client or prespective client would want to know; the store hours, location of the stores, departments within the store, and varity of the items and goods located in the stores. The site uses few graphics and plain text, each page and sub pages are all uniformly the same and built in HTML. There is no CSS detected so each individual page will have to have its own design changes. Technology should be implemented so from this point forward any updates or changes will be uniform on all pages and the change propagated down through the whole site.…

The storyboarding was to demonstrate of how a muscle contracts and how it goes back to relaxation, but more importantly how each part does it function for this to happen. I was a little confuse about how the process happens, but I'm the type of person that can learn more when I have a visual so I think it was really helpful to to do the storyboarding. In today's labs I learned how the channels open and releases and let in the calcium. I complete my online before class and it was really useful for us to be able to put a outline with the different definition that everybody had, but it was a very good activity to do, because everybody contribute to have a better outline…

Web standards promote higher accessibility and usability; it suggests a set of rules in which every developer can follow and understand (Boudreau, 2002). Standards set by W3C, World Wide Web Consortium, will ensure that most browsers used will present the website as it was intended to be, without time consuming rewrites of code for specific browsers (W3schools, 2013). Accessibility is very important as it allows the web to be used by individuals with disabilities but also individuals with unconventional browsers to access any web page. In today’s society web browsers are not only used on desktop computers but also from handheld devices to mobile phones; standards help achieve a more stable web experience no matter when and where you access the web. Backward browser compatibility is another important factor brought by web standards; web pages coded in new versions of web browsers are still generally supported in an older version and vice versa.…
