I have been hired by your establishment to design a new website for you. This reports purpose is to inform you on how I have met the requirements of your site which were made known to me at the beginning of the designing process, which were to make the site informational, educational, to help increase membership and bring in more visitors from abroad. The brief given to me by Copt Hill Preservation Society stated what they website to do for its users. They stated that they wanted their website to be:
Informational: The content of my website includes things that would enlighten the user of the website about Copt Hill e.g. I put information about the history of Copt Hill and the things that are available to do in the surrounding area, I also told users of the site about the different features that are included in the rooms that are at Copt Hill.
Educational: In order to fulfill this aim of theirs, I added an educational page which informed the user that Copt Hill did regular and residential school trips. I also added a slideshow of pictures which showed the user the different activities that are available when students go to Copt Hill.
Increase membership: increasing membership will increase the amount of revenue flowing into the company and will spread awareness about the site and the company. On the site I have created, I have prominent section for membership on the home page and have dedicated a whole page for people to sign up to the Copt Hill site. Privileges are shown on this page to entice users of the site in order to get them to become a member as these privileges are not available to standard visitors of the site. A good way to test the site is by using a pilot scheme with a sample of people that would allow them to use the site before it is launched to the general public, during this pilot scheme the sample of people will have access to full site and use all of its features. From this we will receive feedback from actual users of the site and will have knowledge of what needs to be changed in order to make the site better and more beneficial; furthermore, the site will be shown to Copt Hill and they will examine the site in order to make sure that their aims and objectives have been
