Ospital Ng Tondo II | Jose Abad Santos Ave., Tondo, Manila 1012 | Dr. Isaias R. Cando, Jr | Tel: 252-3942 / 251-9406 |
The 10-story Sta. Ana Hospital on New Panaderos Street in Sta. Ana was inaugurated Wednesday by city officials led by Mayor Alfredo Lim and Vice Mayor Francisco ?Isko Moreno? Domagoso.
The other guests at the launching were business tycoon Lucio Tan, president and chair of the Tan Yan Kee Foundation, the city government?s partner for the project.
Tan was joined by his wife, Carmen, and other members of the foundation.
In his speech, Tan recounted his father?s teachings like always remembering other people?s kindness by helping others without expecting anything in return.
?A public hospital is a noble project,? said Tan. ?The Sta. Ana Hospital is our small way to thank the city of Manila and its people.?
Health care, being one of Lim?s topmost priorities for the city, will now be available in all six districts of Manila with the operation of new city-owned hospitals.
?It is a dream come true for me to provide each district with a hospital,? Lim said. He added the existing city hospitals will not only accept patients from Manila but from nearby cities as well. They will also provide free medicines to those who can hardly afford to buy medicines.
?You do not have to pay the doctor?s fees,? said Lim. Of the hospital?s 200-bed capacity, 90 percent will be allotted to charity patients.
The mayor assured residents that the facility is not just a hospital building. Doctors with different fields of specialization, nurses, and medical aides will provide quality health care service to whoever needs it, he added.
The fully air-conditioned facility is also equipped with 54 modern machines and a bigger space to accommodate more patients.
The equipment includes a CT scan, anaesthesia machine, bio hazard safety cabinet, biological microscope, blood bank refrigerator, dental chairs ECG machine, eye refraction set, incubators, mortuary freezer,,

Throughout history we have seen a transformation in the health care system. Before 1870, hospitals, for example were constructed and operated on a charity-based foundation, and were home for strangers and the poor (Starr 171). Doctors on the other hand, would work without pay, and majority of their health care took place in patient’s homes, which required a more personal patient-doctor relationship. Nonetheless, today, we see that none of this applies. Hospitals have become an essential part of our existence, and as the health care demand increases, so did the need for technology and specialization, driving costs up and causing the charity based foundation to shift to a profitable business.…

The three components of a healing hospital are first, providing an environment that promotes healing through compassionate and loving care. This is done through helping patients and families manage stress, decreasing noisy distractions to give patients a quiet environment that enables the patients to get the most sleep. "Patients bodies perform the most repair during sleep. Cells regenerate faster during sleep" (Eberst 2008). With less noise and distractions the employees are able to have a stress-free environment. Also having an environment that is done in a tasteful and beautiful way gives patients the environment needed for healing. Second, integrating technology and work design that helps employees work more efficiently and are able to promote privacy and security for the patients. Advancements in technology enable the hospital to provide top quality care. Lastly and most importantly, a healing hospital integrates a culture of "Radical Loving Care" this helps remind the healthcare professionals why they…

There has been a growing concern that health sector needs a huge attention today, not only from government, citizen, but also from many discipline of health care practices. In the recent year, in the United States which is a superpower country, the delivery of human services is still to be a constant puzzle for policy makers, practitioners, and academics (Mayhew, 2012). Health care delivery (including preventive and supportive care) in this country is challenged by demands of access, safety, quality, and cost (Giberson, et. al., 2011). Even though, many years before, these health care issues has been arised as Wilson D.E. stated that the year 1994 was one of great health care non-reform, although national legislation was enacted, states began to seek ways to deal seriously with the issues, primarily the cost, but also the quality of care (Institute of Medicine 25th Anniversary Symposium, 1996). The same thing is happened in the developing country, even worse. Such as in Indonesia, despite solid economic growth in recent years that has raised millions from poverty, Indonesia faces numerous healthcare challenges, from maternal mortality to vector-borne diseases such as malaria to malnutrition, and degenerative diseases associated with a population that is both ageing and living an increasingly sedentary lifestyle. (The Economist Intelligence Unit, 2010). Besides that, most of population in this country lives in rural areas making the delivery of health care services difficult, a system of community health centres is being developed in response to the needs of the rural community (Jacobalis S., 1989). This means that health care matter is still unresolved.…

Out of all of the developed Islands of The Bahamas, only two Islands (Grand Bahama and New Providence) have major hospitals. As the Prime Minister of The Bahamas I will ensure that every Island has adequate equipment, supplies and manpower (nurses and doctors) but more importantly, the Family Islands. In 2011 Health Minister Huber Minnis stated, “Finding qualified Bahamian personnel to staff community clinics in the Family Islands remain a challenge for the Ministry of Health”. (Russell, 2011). According to the minister, the clinics on those Islands are being utilized, but there may be a need for more physicians there. More than 80% of the physicians on the Family Islands are non- Bahamian. As the prime minister I will spend a large amount of money educating Bahamian individual in the medical field and have them sign contracts/bonds that will ensure that upon completion they will work on Family Islands. As the leader of my country I will encourage young Bahamians to go into the medical/ health care field by giving full scholarships to all who meet the requirement; stressing the importance…
