Without them, this thesis work wouldn’t be able to finish by the researchers.

Chapter I: Problem and Its settings
Introduction
Filipinos are born intellectual enough to adopt changes in this world. Speaking English is one of the changes we see, if you know how to speak this language you will have an advantage especially in finding a work. Learning to speak English demands a lot of practices, attention and determination. Students learn to speak through their mother’s tongue just by listening and repeating. The teacher can adopt the same natural way too. Reciting everyday during the class discussions removes the shyness of a student and builds its confidence while using this language. These are some factors affecting the development of a student’s skills in speaking English. Nowadays, Social Media has a great power in influencing the teenagers. Then, if Social Media already stole the interest of students nowadays, can it also help them to enhance their English skills or the negative effect of it? In segments, the Grade seven of St. Mary’s Academy will be the representatives of our teenagers these days and they will be the respondents at the same time. The researchers want to know, if Social Media can be a new teacher to grade seven students in enhancing their English skills. The researchers will interview ten freshmen students in each section and give them some questioners to answer. The results of those questioners will be the basis of the researchers.

Background of the study
Social media are Internet sites where people interact freely, sharing and discussing information about each other and their lives, using a multimedia mix of personal words, pictures, videos and audio.At these Web sites, individuals and groups create and exchange content and engage in person-to-person conversations. They appear in many forms including blogs and microblogs, forums and message boards, social networks, wikis, virtual worlds, social bookmarking, tagging and news, writing communities, digital storytelling and scrapbooking, and...
