Project Schedule
Business Requirements
In order to accomplish the objectives detailed in the scope it is essential to make sure during the system creation that the 4 objectives are accomplished. To create a complete work breakdown structure or WBS, it is essential to further describe the predicted outcomes which will be used as the measurements for the accomplishment of the objectives set.
During working toward the conclusion of the Human Resources client-server database system, the development group will be having an assignment breakdown strategy. Using the Work Breakdown Structure (WBS), the project’s phases will be observed in the shape of deliverables in which every group member will be designated when the assignment goes forward. Completing assignment milestones will be a weekly objective for the group. Every week a work plan will be created showing the correct phases of work to accomplish the following landmark. A project detail showing the scope, the measurable organizational value (MOV) of the assignment, the essential jobs to do, and the potential milestones to accomplish will be set up like a guide for the project group. The project group will get together every week for an overview of development, and to ensure that the project is actually advancing as per the scope.
The assignment will follow a number of stages in development. Every stage will indicate an objective during completing a specific assignment as well as the resources required to accomplish that objective. These stages will be defined by assignment: conceptualization, improvement, style, structure, screening, execution, as well as assessment.

Stakeholders Identifying the key stakeholders is an important part of the information gathering process. The key stakeholders in Riordan Manufacturing for gathering information for this project are: the payroll manager, Silvija Peterson, the compensation & benefits manager, Terri Carranza, the employee relations manager, Andrea Gamby, and the training and development specialist, Mari Carillo. This represents the management and daily users of the current HRIS and provides a good basis for what the requirements of the new system need to be (Apollo group, 2012). The three fundamental application architectures are server based architecture, client based architecture, and client-server based architecture. The architecture that will be implemented to Riordan Manufacturing’s HRIS will be n-tiered client-server architecture. This encompasses three groups of computers: client(s), application server(s), and database server(s). The client is responsible for the presentation login and the server is responsible for the data access logic and data storage (Dennis, Haley Wixom, Roth, 2012). With the proposed system HR staff will access and input information using a web portal. Reports can be easily generated and sorted and filtered for the desired layout. Submissions for changes can be requested by an employee’s manager where this request will be logged into the system for future reference. All training and department records will be imported from the previously used Excel files and will now be entered using the web portal. Recruiters will be able to access applicant information for open positions. Resumes will be attached to each applicants profile and accessible using the web portal. Employee files and timesheet information will be integrated with the proposed system and access able by the managers. The compensation manager will enter the results of job analysis, salary surveys, and individual compensation decisions. All complaints,…

The Human Resource department of Riordan Manufacturing has been running the HRIS system for 13 years in which it has organized the necessary information of employee demographics. There are multiple parts to an initial project startup. A project manager will identify a need, define a scope and then flow down into the work breakdown structure (WBS). “The WBS is a hierarchical structure in which all of the major phases of project work are organized in a logical manner.” (Venkataraman & Pinto, 2008, p. 32). This combines all aspects of the initial stages of project development and planning into one workable document. This becomes a base for the project manager to keep an eye on how the project is progressing as well as to relate the costs of the project at the different stages. The WBS is going to initially start with the overall project, broken down into deliverables and then into the separate work packages that relate to those deliverables. The three main types of WBS’s are product based WBS, organizational based WBS, and process based WBS. In my organization we are an aerospace part manufacturing plant and we produce a product that goes through numerous processes…

Riordan Manufacturing is seeking a new system that will consolidate all of their Human Resource related data. Currently, the data that will be a part of the new system is spread out through different departments of the company. The new system will allow this data to be saved in a central location, while only allowing viewing access to certain employees. The access will be much the same as currently in place, but located in a single system. Lastly, the implementation of the new system will be not be a quick process, because it would be safer the company completes a test run to few end users before completely releasing the system.…

Scoping the project, during the planning stage of a project the scope must be defined. This was done by using the work break down structure (WBS). The work break down will cover all tasks that must be completed in order to form the project i.e. the scope. The work break down structure divides the project into tasks that are then broken down further into smaller work packages. Objectives for the project must also be set. One method of doing this is SMART which stands for specific, measurable, achievable, rewarding and time bound. Another analysis tool is PESTLE which stands for political, economic, social, technology, legislative and environmental…
