Narrative Report On the Job Training is part of a college curriculum that aims to train and orient student about the work and their future career. It helps also the students to acquire relevant knowledge and skills by performing in actual work setting. The training I had in Government Service Insurance System (GSIS) is learning many experiences each day. I was exposed in the actual work in Records Area in which I became more familiar with the documents. I also learned to be more sociable and to adjust myself in the new environment where I am working at and who I am working. In my more than a month stay there, I learned many things, not only those things that are related to my course but also the things that molded me into the person I am right now. As I was working as a trainee at the GSIS Records Area, I learned to become a hardworking person. The time to finish the tasks assigned to me is important that I should do it correctly. As I was conducting my training, I also learned to follow the instructions and to accept or admit my failure and should learn from it as what my Training Manager said to me. After the training, I realized that on the job training is not just a requirement to be completed but it is an opportunity to show what skills, knowledge and talents that I have and also an opportunity to experience the feeling of being a professional. This on the job training allowed me to get acquainted with the employees. During my stay there as a trainee, they kept on encouraging and motivating me to study hard and to do my best always. I won’t forget my Training Manager who challenged me not just my skills and abilities but also my patience. He is a kind of person who wants everything to be done correctly. He doesn’t like having doubts so I always get nervous whenever he calls for my help. But with that experience with my Training Manager, I am so very thankful because he taught me to be more patient and to be more confident of what I know is right
