REFLECTION FORM (INDIVIDUAL ASSESSMENT 15%)
Learning Experience gained from the role-play session: (15 marks)

What I had learned from the role play session are I know how to structure the interview question effectively. Interview question which relevant to the job should be structure effectively because it enable the interviewers to analysis the information of the candidate and predict the job performance of each candidate. The structured questions like job knowledge questions, experience questions, behavioral questions and situational questions enable interviewers to know what job skill candidate have, what working experience candidate have, how the candidate handle situation. The effective structure interviews questions are let interviewers know whether their candidate meet their expectation or not. For example, “what would you do if you accidently damage your customer hair”, this question will show what action of the candidate will take to solve this kind of problem. If the candidate can show how they solve this problem well, it may satisfy the expectation of interviewer.

Beside this, I learned how to communicate more effectively during the interviews session. The communication skills are very important during the interview session. Good communication skills allow interviewers and candidates clearly understand what are they talk about. Therefore, good communication also can help interviewers and candidates build rapport. So, when you asking question or answer question, you have to make sure the conversation are clear and easy to understand. For example, before the interview session start, I will introduce myself and others interviewers louder and clearly to make sure we know each other’s. At the same time, we also give time for candidate to introduce himself and also his background. Furthermore, we also give few chance for candidate to ask a question. The way we communicate is not only

The human resources aid I have provided to the human resources department (HRD) are directed at giving the human resources department(HRD) a detail look into what kind of recruits my department is looking for in new employees. The aids I have provided in this document give a detail look into the role of the mortgage processor on how our management staff would like for the human resources department to hire and train new employees for the role of mortgage processors. The minimum requirements that we are looking for will be clearly defined that way the best suited recruiters will be hired. I feel that my aids will also help to ensure that new employees understand what kind of behavior will be expected from them and what their responsibilities’ and expectations are. It will also be the human resources department role to explain benefits and incentives to the new employees so that the new employees are optimistic about their new employment. By working hand in hand with management and the human resources department in hiring and training new employees we will also be working towards meeting the company’s goals and will be more cost efficient.…

The first thing that stood out the most to me is that a lot of people were applying for the same position, so it is imperative that you are comfortable around large groups of people. Self-appearance and a high confidence level will put you in a better position to stand out amongst the many applicants. A high confidence level produces a more personable interview. You should always be able to be interviewed on the spot by representatives from different organizations and maintain professionalism and proper diction. You should also have sufficient and correct contact information and references available upon request.…

In this task we were told to do a role-play on the selection process. We were first told to do questions for candidates. The whole group done 15 questions and after as a group, we had to talk to each other to create 15 questions for interview. By doing 15 questions I have learned some of the questions that there could be in the interview. From these 15 questions we chosen 7 questions to ask to the candidate, we agreed that these questions are not boring and open question to make sure that we will have good communication with the candidate. From this I learned that which questions could in an interview and what type of questions there will be. I was writing the questions that my group gave and I also give some ideas to write as well. After we wrote all the questions we took it to the teacher so we would see if it was good however, we amended a lot in the questions because it didn’t relate to our person specification and job description. My contribution to this was write the amendments and change the types of some questions, this was important because without the amendments we wouldn’t be able to ask good questions to out interviewee. I think that this was good because we communicated with each other good and amended it to make sure that it was professional questions.…

The interviewing processes were an eye opener for me, as I have conducted interviews on many occasions and never truly had a process. My process involved asking questions based on whether or not the applicant felt that they were capable of fulfilling the job requirements. I now have learned that by being prepared with a job description, a list of competency questions and knowing what questions lead to conversation about the past experiences of the interviewee that can relate to the current position that is looking to be filled.…

    User Research - Interview

Insight on experience conducting interviews - The process of interviewing is a craft and needs experience and skill to make it effective. As a novice in this user research technique, I realized the importance of thorough preparation, formulating and practicing for unseen situations, creating a strong backup plan. A good interview requires a good amount of listening. It was very difficult for me in my first interview to ask a question and then silently wait for an answer. My natural tendency pushed me to provide some input starting point to the interviewee. Understanding the concept of silence and listening in an interview was a learning experience. On a few occasion the answers from the interviewee strayed off topic. In such cases I had to show considerable interest and appropriately interjected with a question to get the discussion on course. Interviews include real people and real situations so it is very important that the interviewer doesn’t become judgmental or opinionated towards the participants answers or reactions. While conducting the interview the interviewer needs to be neutral and even toned. Saying a please and thank you more than once goes a long way in making people feel valued for this time and feedback. Sincerity in acknowledgment made people comfortable and they opened up faster.…
