The following writing will reflect and describe the key concepts and topics of the course that I feel has made me a stronger candidate to enter the business world and discuss how this course has affected me in my professional development as a student and as a person as well as encouraging me on my academic path.
During the last ten weeks, I have had the opportunity to learn a variety of concepts and topics that will make me a stronger candidate to enter the business world. The most important topics and concepts that I have found will make me stronger is active listening, interviewing processes and what questions to ask and not to ask. Active listening will assist me in the future to ensure the staff feels as though they are important to the company and that their contributions are important to the company’s success. Active listening can also help in the interview process, in order to ensure that the applicant is aware that all of the attention is on them and that the interviewer feels that the applicant’s words are important.
The interviewing processes were an eye opener for me, as I have conducted interviews on many occasions and never truly had a process. Learning about the questions that are and are not appropriate to ask during an interview are important for avoiding offending potential new employees, putting the company at risk of being put through a lawsuit for discrimination and to ensure a positive reputation for the company.
All of these details will ensure that I am acting morally and ethically; which will help me succeed in the business world and

Active Listening Skills is the first article I read. This article was very helpful since it provided me with information on how to help clients improve the quality of their life. It is crucial for a client to know that the interviewer is really listening because the client will open up faster since the client will feel appreciated and respected. The article explains how important it is to listen in order to catch the client’s attention and for the client to respond positively and rapidly and on a deeper level. I learned by reading the article that there are different ways of listening. I have learned that the interviewer should have active participation which means facing the client at all times and maintaining eye contact during the interview/session, to always focus on what the client is saying, and for the interviewer to respond properly showing interest on what the client said.…
