Gloucester has a rich historical legacy such as the cathedral and docks ,museums, nationally and regionally important events and festivals such as the award winning Tall Ships Festival, Summer and Christmas celebrations and also it has different type of ethnic group with over 40 language spoken which means Gloucester has really rich culture and a wide range of ethnic origin foods as well . Furthermore sport activities such as Premiership Rugby Team, Gloucester City AFC and Gloucestershire County Cricket Team also have a big part in Gloucester tourism in addition it has well known for numerous food and drink specialities, including double Gloucester cheese and Gloucester old spot sausages. Therefore Gloucester currently attracts around 1.9 million visitors a year and these visitors spending around £109 million in the city thereby Gloucester has a strong and growing economy. Retail sector also benefit for economy of Gloucester because the development of Gloucester Quays, one of the biggest mixed use waterside .

Also ''Big believe in Gloucester'' project is help to raising awareness of Gloucester's strength.


Every year Gloucester accommodate millions of tourist and the majority of these tourists come with their own car. However Gloucester is a small city and it has small town due to it is not able to present a various of car parking area around the town. The second weaknesses of parking is about coaches. Group tourism which is arranged by coaches is almost the main part of day trip or short trip in Gloucester. Therefore these issues can have particularly impact on short break tourism of Gloucester.
