Good morning, my name is Sims and I am the VP of ABC Inc. and I am going to discuss a certain issue that happened involving a new campus recruiter named Carl Robinson. Carl Robinson and several of our ABC Inc. employees were involved in a bad situation which was caused by poor communication, procrastination and scheduling. Like all good teams they learned from their mistakes to make sure the problem does not happen again.

After coming back to work from the memorial weekend Carl Robins the new campus recruiter for ABC Inc., realized that the new hire orientation was two weeks away. Carl started to go through the new trainee files and realized that not much has been done regarding

Depending on how long this orientation is going to last and if there are other training rooms available in the facility, Carl can resolve this issue fairly easy. If the orientation takes one day and there is no other training rooms available, Carl could ask Joe if he can use the training room for that day. It’s not a guarantee that Joe is going to agree and is Joe really going to want to change skip a day of the training seminar because of someone else’s mistake. If there are no other training rooms available or Joe does not agree, Carl can explain the situation to Monica Carrolls and the company supervisors, and ask if it is possible they can rent a conference room from a local venue. If the company supervisors frown upon that idea because it is going to cost the company extra money they might not agree with that idea. Carl can also see if he can have the trainees come in on Saturday, sure the new trainees will not complain if they are really interested on getting this job. If all does not work out it seems like the orientation is going to be moved to the first week of July. But this can look very bad on Carl. With only six months on the job it is possible that he can lose his job. It also looks bad on the company because the new trainees are expecting to start working for Miss Carrolls in the beginning of July and could be possibility for these trainees to be employed somewhere

By creating this space to freely talk about the ends and outs of orientation we can get see what worked and what didn’t work throughout the years.     One of the first problems is when Monica Carrolls gave him the assignment. He wasn’t very experience with his job. You can tell from the situation that he didn’t have the experience to complete the task. If he had the experience he would have known what to do. Such as he would have sat down done backwards planning. Starting from June 15 and working backwards seeing what he needed to get done by what date. He would have found out that he should has all the paperwork, drug test done ahead of time. And thoroughly going over all the information, background checks of all the candidates. After he made sure that was all good he would contact each one and let them the date of the orientation and then reserve the classroom for that date and time for orientation. Carol failed to do all of that. He did some of the paper work but nothing near enough to get the task done. He was new to his job and didn’t have a clue on what to do. He never really planned ahead. He put the orientation on his calendar or a note pad, never coordinated with the human resources if the room he wanted was open at that time. Or could have asked around if the class room was going to be open at for the orientation. He had 15 personal folders and several different training schedule, orientation, manuals, policy booklets, physicals, drug tests, and a host of other issues he had to plan.
