College Admissions Essay: A Career In High School
There has been so many ups and downs in my high school years. After all the work I have put in through my four years being here, now it’s finally about to pay off. I am finally to the point where the work I have done in high school will lead me right into the school of my choice. I have long dreamt to pursue an engineering degree and now that I have worked so hard in high school, now I will be able to attend one of the top schools for engineering. I am so excited to see what my future has in store for me down the road with the level of maturity I have been able to grow into in high school. It’s surreal that the all the work that I have done is about to pay off in the long run. Even though I had a rough freshmen year, I am glad that I had that year just for the fact that my maturity completely changed. I went from being an awful student, barely passing my classes, to a student that hardly ever …show more content…
I think that college has a lot to do with just your determination to get the grades you want, and I think I have been able to have the determination I will have to have. I have done a lot of growing up in my high school years and one of the main things I have learned is that I have to have the determination to get the grades that I desire. I have to be the one to work to get those grades because no one is going to give them to me.
High school has been quite an experience for me, as I feel that I have experienced all that I have needed to. Although I am so glad that senior year has arrived, now I am anxious to get the next step in life. I have things that I will regret in my high school years, but all in all it's been pretty good. I just have a hard time believing that I am about to go to college to pursue what I have wanted to do since middle school. I am ready to move on so bad to prove to my family that even though they didn’t go to college I can go and

I was the type of student to do the bare minimum and do whatever it takes just to get by. Going into this senior year I thought it was going to be a breeze but I've been wrong before. This senior year has taught me that if I want to be successful in my life then I need to give it my all just like Jesus commanded us too. This past summer I started to look into colleges I would be interested in playing football for. I found a few schools in Wisconsin that interested me so me and my mother drove 28 hours in a Prius to go visit 4 schools. During the trip I realized that college is closer than it seems. College is not just something we dream of one day but it is the next step in our lives. I am extremely excited for what God holds for me in the future and am ready to face life's challenges. High school is a lot of pressure but we all will look back one day and remember the good times of it. I am very thankful for the people in my life that have made me the man I am today. Finding the right college is going to a hard decision but I know God will put me at the place I need to be an I am very excited wherever that is going to…

Last year had to by far be the toughest year for me in high school. I grew away from many people that I considered some of my closest friends. I also suffered academically because I began to spend less time doing work and being focused on less important things. I got caught up in unnecessary drama, went on my first college visits, and met new people in the matter of one year. Not only did I grow as a person, I grew as an athlete, I grew as a sibling, and I grew as a young woman. My junior year allowed me to develop my expectations for myself in life and my expectations for the people who I choose to surround myself with. This was the year that I decided who I would want to become in the future.…

There are so many things in my life right now that I'm beyond grateful for. Getting accustomed to living in Boston hasn't been as big of a struggle for me as I thought it would be. I love the sounds of the city outside my dorm, even if the car honks and ambulance sirens can be a little obnoxious at times. Just being here and being open to meeting new people makes me feel accomplished, like I've finally overcome the obstacle of my past shyness and worrying about others' thoughts of me. Part of me knows that if my senior year of high school…

Senior year was my most arduous year through high school; it demanded complete focus, dedication, and most importantly, my time. I was taking advanced classes such as: Calculus, Physics, and College Level English. It was challenging for me to fulfill my duties as a National Honor Society President, and at the same time, trying to excel in these classes in order to maintain my academic standard. It was difficult because I was ranked number one for our senior class of 2015, and I needed to maintain that rank as there were other bright and smart students in our class. However, I set goals for myself throughout the school year and strategically planned it so that I had my priorities in line. Careful planning, together with the support and help…
