College Admissions Essay: How Christianity Changed My Life
Growing up as a child, Christianity was taught to be all the time even when I didn't want to hear it. I grew up in a Christian home, attended a Christian school, and attended church twice a week. My parents had lots of parties for our "church friends" and would always make me stop playing video games and come be social with people I saw a little too much of. I started to find my own faith in Jesus and not just believe in Him because my parents did. Like every other student at NCS I always found a reason to rebel and complain about the school. The only thing I liked about school was the football team. I started playing football in eighth grade and have loved every year. I started to notice myself interact with my teammates more and less with …show more content…
I was the type of student to do the bare minimum and do whatever it takes just to get by. Going into this senior year I thought it was going to be a breeze but I've been wrong before. This senior year has taught me that if I want to be successful in my life then I need to give it my all just like Jesus commanded us too. This past summer I started to look into colleges I would be interested in playing football for. I found a few schools in Wisconsin that interested me so me and my mother drove 28 hours in a Prius to go visit 4 schools. During the trip I realized that college is closer than it seems. College is not just something we dream of one day but it is the next step in our lives. I am extremely excited for what God holds for me in the future and am ready to face life's challenges. High school is a lot of pressure but we all will look back one day and remember the good times of it. I am very thankful for the people in my life that have made me the man I am today. Finding the right college is going to a hard decision but I know God will put me at the place I need to be an I am very excited wherever that is going to

I joined a fraternity the following year. After joining the fraternity I put even less thought into my future and I just wanted ti enjoy my college years and worry about it later on. Around the same time I was going through a rebellious teen phase at home with my mom and that proved too stressful all together. I slacked even more and, failed a class one semester. I would go to class and did just enough to get by without caring for the consequences. Well it all hit me at once my 4th year. I was already behind on credits and had to seriously think about my future. I looked at the summary of the past few years and I became extremely disappointed in myself for wasting so much time and not taking my education serious. I told myself that this is not how I wanted to live my life anymore. I took a step back during the summer vacation to reevaluate my actions and my life and try to change my priorities to get back on track. After doing a lot of thinking I changed a lot. I decided that I wanted to go back to school and get a restart on my grades and my college education but in a different major. As a consequence I would be in school for much longer but if in the end I would study what makes me happy and I would be more content…

I started my first year of college with my life prearranged. I had a ridiculous notion that everything was going to be a piece of cake. I was going to join different clubs, do lots of research, make the dean’s list, make my parents proud and attend as many parties as I could. However, now when I look back, I realized that I was too comfortable in my life. I thought I was ready to overcome every obstacle that was thrust upon me but I was sadly mistaken. College was a culture shock. I concluded that college is an entirely different universe, then high school. My GPA dropped for the first time in my life from a 3.7 in high school to a 2.8. The decline in my GPA made me realize that my journey to becoming a doctor is not always going to be easy. It made me hunger to go to medical school even more, to overcome the academic and emotional hurdles, and…

I wanted to try a lot of new things, and I decided that high school is the place to start. I didn't only want to go to this school because of the chance of success, but because of the experience I will gain. The drab thought of not getting into BCTHS would've made me sullen. The thought of high school always scared me until I was told one day that high school is all about what you make it, so I decided to concede my fears. I decided that if you choose not to do the work, you are choosing to be unsuccessful and to be displaced out of the school. If you choose to be out going, thoughtful, respectful, and courageous, it will be everything you hope for. Once I have realized that I was the only thing standing between making or breaking my high school experience, I knew this was where I needed to be to be happy. I decided that there was one school I had to attend to insure that my high school experience would be everything I wanted it to be, and that school was BCTHS. I am now not afraid to attend high school, and I cant wait to embark on this journey with you and all of my other…

Summer 2008 I began college as a freshman looking forward to all the new thing that I was going to be learning and also looking forward to all the new people I was going to be meeting. Overall I was overly excited about the new environment. It made me feel a sense of independence that I had never felt before. I was out there on my own and I was ready to make great things happen. Beginning as a freshman I had so many things that I wanted to accomplish. I wanted to become a dental hygienist, a cosmetologist, a pharmacy technician, a nurse and a wardrobe stylist. I knew that if I worked hard I could accomplish and achieve being anything that I wanted. As semesters rolled onward I began to accomplish things that I wanted: pharmacy technician, accomplished; associates degree, accomplished; cosmetologist, accomplished; certified nursing assistant, accomplished. I achieved so many great things but I still wanted more. I felt that there was more out there for me to achieve and I wanted to have it all. If there was more to be learned, I wanted to learn it and be a part of it. With that being said, I worked and I strived for more great things.…
