Description of Problem Behavior 3.1:
Behavior One: Non-compliant behavior is defined as Willie coming to class 10 to 15 minutes late five out of five days a week
Behavior Two: Non-compliant behavior is exhibited when Willie initiates attention seeking behavior by singing during lecture periods. This behavior is exhibited an average of 2 times per 40 minute lecture period.
Behavior Three: Non-compliant behavior is exhibited when Willie ignores 90% of presented class work and Willie goes on a computer without permission 4 out of five days a week.

As per his IEP, Willie has a long history of avoidance behavior. His classroom behavior seriously interferes with the instructional process. These behaviors manifest as off -task behaviors and

Differential Reinforcement of Other Behavior is a procedure where positive reinforcement is provided only when the target behavior is not displayed for a specified period of time. Willie’s suspension for computer use will be lifted. The classroom must have a computer and computers will be integrated into his class work to help foster a positive workable atmosphere. He will start with a clean slate. As stated before, technology could be a great tool to help Willie in his education. The current reward system that staff use is effective; however, due to Willie’s low average and behavior he is ineligible to participate in computer free time. If the student is able to stabilize his grade point average, he will be able to earn more time, including afterschool time. In choosing ineffective and valued reinforcement, students can often be asked what they would like as a result of their effort. In this case, Willie would like more time on classroom computers and more computer time would act as a positive reinforcement. The classroom teacher will collect the data during the class period. The data should be collected using a duration recording interval. The primary concern is the length of time the student engages in a particular behavior. Willie ignores 90% of presented class work and goes on a computer without permission 4 out of five days a week. Event recording would provide information on how many times Willie ignores his work and goes on a computer. This would also prove whether or not Willie’s teacher assistant is curbing his behavior and keeping him on task. Total duration recording measures how long a student engages in a behavior in a limited time period. This is an excellent measure for how much time Willie spends on task before he goes off
