Cats Vs Dogs Essay
Dogs are one of the most loved household pets and for good reasons. Dogs require a little bit more maintenance than cats. Dogs like to please their owners while cats are more self-centered and only care about themselves. When it comes to which one is smarter it depends on the methods used to measure it.
Dogs require potty training or need puppy pads to pee on, or else they will urinate wherever they choose. They are trained to assist people with physical disabilities. Tasks that service dogs can do are helping with pulling wheelchairs, opening doors, and picking up objects as small as a dime. Service dogs help the disabled. Service dogs work with people that have disabilities such as Diabetes, MS, Cancer, Autism and Epilepsy.…

Dogs are preferable to cats for many clear and distinct reasons. There are multiple different kinds of dogs. They can be big, small, energetic, calm and fun. But cats are just cats. Even if it is a different breed of cat, they will still lay on your couch the whole day and only get up for food. And dogs are just so adorable. For example, when I look into my dog’s eyes, all I see is crystal blue. His crystal blue eyes glimmer like the deep, blue sea on a sunny day. When you get a dog, it is like getting a new best friend or a new family member. For instance, my dog, Bo, follows me everywhere and always is trying to give me kisses. They will love you as much as you love them. A loving personality and wild character just comes natural dogs. When I get home from school, my dog always greets me at the door and is so excited to see me. Then he runs and grabs a…

For the years that we have been living we all have come to realize that dogs are more trainable than cats. Canines have been trained to care for their owners, fetch news papers and some are trained as watch dogs for the blind. Others are close in social status to a Deputy – sometimes referred to as Deputy Dogs. This is pretty remarkable to think that we have dogs that are capable of recognizing and, attacking criminals, identifying drugs and placing criminals under arrest. In most cases we have dogs that are trained to be remarkable house dogs. Dogs have been trained over the years to perform entertaining tricks such as, roll over, fetch, shake hand and even play dead. There are many dogs which have developed bad habits. Special attention and training programs have been developed to assist dogs in shaking these bad habits. These bad habits include, biting, chewing on furniture and rugs, digging holes, barking consistently without apparent reason and most of all, house soiling. Cats on the other hand belong to the feline family and are not as trainable as dogs. There is just a significant limit to their training. Yes they are able to be home trained - to prevent house soiling, but to prevent them from damaging your furniture with their claws, you basically have to clip the claws. When cats are kept as pets, they become attached to their human…

Generally, dogs are smarter and more active than cats. Dogs are trained by owners to do tricks without questioning their authority. Then after training, dogs can repeat exactly what they are commanded to do. Conversely, more time must be spent to train a cat, and they might not even listen to commands. Dogs tilt their heads and listen when talk to, while cats yawn and fall asleep. Studymode indicates that “Dogs can use their training skills for search and rescue, detect specific objects”, and assist mentally and physically impaired humans, however cats can be therapy.…

Dogs are more interactive with people than cats. They provide us with more pleasure and a better quality of life. At a basic level dogs can be taught to play fetch with a stick, and then we can have hours of fun playing “catch” with our pet. Further, the ability for a dog to be trained to perform certain tasks provides disabled people the chance to have a much better quality of life. If physically disabled, a person can teach their "dogs with jobs” to turn on lights, open doors, or if the dog is large and strong even carry groceries or help pull a wheelchair. Mentally disabled people also benefit from their trained dogs because when they learn to care for their pet and their pet cares for them in return they learn the power of empathy.…
