Cats prefer privacy and cover their feces when they finish where dogs do neither when they go. Cats seldom have body odors unless they are sick, old or obese. Dogs are not able to clean themselves like cats do , so dead skin and dander cling to their coats and can develop an odor. Cats spend over half their time licking themselves clean. The cat’s tongue is rough as sandpaper, so it is like a mini brush. Dogs don’t have this type of tongue so they need much more help from us humans to get clean. Dogs can be trained to do all kinds of tremendous jobs. They can serve as guide dogs for the blind. They can help search for lost people after a disaster. Some dogs even help police officers catch bad people. Some cat owners believe that cats are too smart to take orders from their owners. I read the article “Cats are funnier than Dogs”, written by Jesse David Fox. In this article, Jesse gave an idea that cats are more humorous and explained her opinion. The “funny” or “humorous” is based on cat’s characteristics. Cat is more self-centered. Different from other pets or animals, they think themselves are nobler and not willing to be demeaned. Therefore, cats are not very willing to obey order like dogs and making choice brilliantly and cleverly. For instance, Jesse said cats knew how to run away by flushing the toilet. Comparing with cats, Dogs are more loyal, obedient and friendly. They more like you friends and even your part of family. Because they listen to you and actually care about you. Working at a dog daycare, I observe different body languages and ways of communication through dogs every day. I work at a facility called Paw Beach Pet Resort where daycare is available daily for 20+ dogs in a large yard. One of the main things I have observed while watching all the dogs is that they have emotions. Every day they are communicating how they believe they feel to one another and everyone around them. Dogs use certain movements of their bodies and body parts along with different vocalizations to express their emotions. These are movements of the ears, eyes, eyebrows, mouth, head, tail, and entire body, as well as barks, growls, whines and whimpers, and howls. While most often dogs are perceived to behave not only according to their breed, but also by their gender, their body language signals, and understanding the way dogs communicate and interact with one another.…

We can detect different emotions from animals based on the sounds that they make, such as laughing or chuckling when happy, or groans and various different moans when upset or disgruntled. Studies showed that different animals laugh when tickled, specifically young orangutans and monkeys, even rats, showing signs of pleasure and enjoyment. Humans also give off sound when being tickled, to show our pleasure and excitement. Dogs are somewhat different in that respect. Although dogs give off audible sounds when being amused, it’s not the same as the laughter that rats, humans, and other monkey species make but it is more of a huffing sound that make when engaged in play or just generally happy.…

For years people have been disagreeing about which is better cats or dogs. I think dogs are a whole lot better. One reason I like dogs better is because dogs can work as service dogs. They are trained to assist people with physical disabilities. Tasks that service dogs can do are helping with pulling wheelchairs, opening doors, and picking up objects as small as a dime. Service dogs help the disabled. Service dogs work with people that have disabilities such as Diabetes, MS, Cancer, Autism and Epilepsy.…
