Our team has put together a strategic plan to provide CanGo with system options that will improve their business work and operations.

Precision Consulting recommends the use of proper rating labels to avoid underage purchases, over-pricing, and delivering unacceptable goods. Customers will not continue to do business with CanGo if their ethic and social responsibilities are not honoring the policies for purchases. Precision Consulting will help CanGo develop their ethic and social responsibility to stay in compliance with all ethical laws.

Riordan Manufacturing Inc. wants to make changes to their current Human Resource Department’s currently used system and has submitted a service request for the analysis of the system. Riordan is currently using a human resource information system (HRIS) to track employee information, namely, pay rate, tax exemptions, hire date, and accumulated vacation hours. Microsoft® spreadsheets are used to track employee training, development records, recruiting information, and complaints. Riordan’s policy specifies that the board of directors is responsible for managing the business of the company (University of Phoenix, 2013). The reason Riordan Manufacturing Inc. needs to do this is to incorporate the devices, officially utilized by the company’s main office to combine and centralize the main system. Riordan Manufacturing Inc. feels that combining all existing tools into a new system has higher benefits and outweighs the risks. Riordan Manufacturing Inc. having a centralized system is the way to cut costs and will make things easier for all departments to use the system. In 1992 Riordan Manufacturing opened its doors to the Human Resources Department. At that time the system, HRIS, was integrated to be cohesive with the financial system. Now, 20 years later, the system has seen better days as it continues to utilize both outdated hardware to run the system and processing methods for the current data associated with the system. Riordan Chief Operations Officer, Hugh McCauley, has reached out to find a single standalone solution to their need for an updated HRIS. This solution is aimed at becoming more sophisticated, state of the art information system in the Human Resources Department.…

Stakeholders Identifying the key stakeholders is an important part of the information gathering process. The key stakeholders in Riordan Manufacturing for gathering information for this project are: the payroll manager, Silvija Peterson, the compensation & benefits manager, Terri Carranza, the employee relations manager, Andrea Gamby, and the training and development specialist, Mari Carillo. This represents the management and daily users of the current HRIS and provides a good basis for what the requirements of the new system need to be (Apollo group, 2012). Although not part of the human resource department, including a few of the programmer/analysts can provide key insight and documentation toward understanding the current system as well.…

Due to its size, Castle’s Family restaurant can be consider to be a relatively small chain and due to that fact, they will have a limited amount of funds that will be available to purchase an HRIS. Due to its limited budget, I would recommend Castle’s Family restaurant to invest and use an application service provider (ASP) service to complete their benefits and payroll needs. ASPs are a way for companies to outsource some or almost all aspects of their information technology needs (Webopedia). In Castle’s situation, they will rent access to data which will be store in a vendor’s server. This option is ideal with a limited amount of resources and support in which Castle’s finds itself. ASP models have lower initial start-up costs and do not require an organization to have a sophisticated IT infrastructure or technical expertise. An ASP can help organizations stay…

There are goals that Can-Go is going towards, but everyone isn’t on the same page. Unity among the employees is one of the most important aspects that you need to resolve. We witnesses during the management meeting about the online gaming idea, which no one seemed to be able to force their opinion or have an open decision to if the company should go forth with the idea. Andrew was very excited with the idea, but tried to almost push the company into the new market. You can’t go into a new market without seeing what is really involved in proceeding with the new move.…

You and your team have been hired by CanGo as consultants to help them improve their fast-growing business. The management team at CanGo is busy, not entirely organized and somewhat overwhelmed by their success. They are looking to you as an objective, intelligent, experienced business person - and to your combined experience as a team to help them figure out what they should do in several areas of their business. CanGo can provide very little guidance to you - if they knew what they were doing they wouldn't have asked you for help! CanGo is your customer, and they are paying you a great deal of money, so the tone of your work on the project should be that of information addressed to the Board of Directors of this company, and it should be the best professional work of your (academic) career. You should approach this project as if your job depended on it - as if it were paying your mortgage and grocery bill. This project is your new job.…
