Real Estate Property management is a very important issue when it comes to property owners who have lots of property and want to keep monitoring from different places around the globe despite the geographical location. This is where information technology comes in handy and helps to ease everything involved in the management of the properties. In this document we are going to see how information technology can be of benefit towards the creation or development of property management system and also to determine whether it is worth being used for a project of the property management system. From the Information Technology Association of America information technology (IT) is being defined as "the study, design, development, application, implementation, support or management of computer-based information systems”, but the term has also been applied more narrowly to describe a branch of engineering dealing with the use of computers and telecommunications equipment to store, retrieve, transmit and manipulate data. We also clearly see form the modern Ghana website by martin nana baffoe pieterson that in general, IT (Information Technology) has brought about significant improvements in Business operations and in the entire human life as whole. This can be proved from the following points:- Him talking about Globalization, whereby he states that Information Technology has not only brought the world closer together, but it has allowed the world's economy to become a single interdependent system. This means that we can not only share information quickly and efficiently, but we can also bring down barriers of linguistic and geographic boundaries. Martin nana also states that Information Technology has also brought about Cost Effectiveness by helping to computerize business processes thus streamlining business to make them extremely cost effective money making machines. This in turn increases productivity which ultimately gives rise to profits that means better pay and less strenuous working conditions. He goes further to the communication part of information technology and says that information technology has helped to make communication cheaper, quicker, and more efficient. “We can now communicate with anyone around the globe for an almost instantaneous response.” He then states that information technology has also made it possible for businesses to be open 24 /7 all over the globe meaning that a business can be open anytime anywhere thanks to information technology based systems. Nana also states that information technology has helped in the creation of new and interesting jobs like Computer programming, Systems analyzing, System developments, Hardware and Software developing and Web designing hence automating processes such as managements. Other point from Martin Nana include Functionality and Flexibility, where he states that internally IT can help improve infrastructure performance thus increasing functionality and the range of options that can be pursued. Externally, he states it can help create an efficient, flexible online/offline platform for doing business with customers, suppliers and partners. In commerce, he states that IT can internally help improve internal operating efficiency and quality. Externally, it can help streamline and integrate channels to market, create new channels and integrate multiple online/offline channels. He then states that IT can also help improve the performance of knowledge to workers and enhance organizational learning. Externally, it can improve the performance of knowledge workers and add information value to existing services hence create new information-based products and services. He finalizes by stating that “information technology can help attract and retain high quality customers, suppliers, partners and investors; increase external stakeholders' satisfaction, engagement and loyalty.” From the article Benefits of Information Technology and systems in Business by kyra sheahan from...
