Why I Want to Become a Teacher
The reason I want to become a teacher is very simple. Teacher of the year (2011) noted that “it’s not what you make but what you make possible.” I believe that I can make a difference with the children. They inspire me to show them the possibilities in life and how to make it possible. Showing them the way in life, showing them that I do care what life brings them and how I can help them in their journey. The thing that inspired me to teach is children. I have always loved children and also have two of my own. Teacher of the year (2008) stated “I teach because I love kids and they know it.” Is also how I feel because when I work with children they know that I love them and care for them and their future, I have been inspired to teach by many different teachers from my past growing up because they showed me what I could become and how I could make it possible just by setting a goal and sticking to it, and that is what I want to show the children that I teach. I want to teach the children that are in kindergarten through third grade because I believe that is one of the most critical times for a child to learn and I always wanted to be a part of that. Teacher of the year (2008) “I teach because I want children to know they have limitless opportunities that are available to them.” This goes along with what I am saying I want to do. I want to show the children that there are so many opportunities in life as long as they chose what is best for them and what they want. I want them to learn that nothing should stand in their way of their dreams, because if you set your mind on doing what you want in life nothing is impossible. The characteristics I possess that would make me a good teacher is I am loving, caring, and very honest. I want the children to know that I am there and care for them and no matter what I will be truthful to them and I will help them in any way I can. Children make me happy, I cherish and love them and want to help them choose the path they want

The topic I chose to write my essay about is being an early childhood teacher because that is what I am studying to be. I have also learned a lot of interesting facts while doing my research. Being an early childhood teacher makes it so the teacher is also a guide to the children they are teaching and is also able to teach the children new things, and keep them safe from any harm that could come their way. As a teacher, you should find some new experiences for the children so they can have fun learning new things and also learn quickly. You will also need to be prepared to talk with large groups of people, whether it be the students’ parents, other teachers or the general public. Another very important thing about being an early childhood educator is having strong management skills so you can have lesson plans, paperwork and other important documents that are needed to be done in a timely manner, instead of waiting until last moment so you can avoid making any mistakes. When you are a teacher, whether it be for young kids, elementary, middle and high school students, there will be many challenges that come along with it, so that’s another thing that would be good for a teacher to be prepared to face. Some of the things a person will need to become an early childhood teacher are: an associate in arts teaching degree and the number of semester hours required (depending on what college you attend) to earn your degree. Having patience, stamina and a personality to work in a room full of energetic children every day is also a great quality for a teacher to have. Some ways to become an effective early childhood teacher are: “have a sound knowledge of subject matter, take a personal interest in each student, and show enthusiasm with students.” Some personal characteristics that are also good to have as an early childhood teacher are “passion, perseverance, willingness to…

Why become an educator? Being an educator gives me the opportunity to be a role model in my student’s eyes. I will have the fine privilege of nurturing and shaping the future generation of our societies. When I was a young boy growing up in school I didn’t really like it. I struggled with the more theory based subjects such as Mathematics and Geography but excelled in practical subjects such as Engineering and Construction studies. I was extremely lucky I had two phenomenal teachers in both Construction studies and Engineering who worked with my strengths, encouraging me to be the best I could possibly be. Now I want to be that teacher. I want to fulfil my role as a teacher, to shape my students lives giving them the ultimate educational…

All my life I knew I wanted to work with kids. I have always enjoyed babysitting and spending time with children. When I was in ninth grade I decided that I wanted to be a social worker, I wanted to work for child protective services dealing with the neglect and abuse of children. I knew it would be a difficult job and that it would cause a lot of heartache; not only for myself but also, for the families I would be dealing with. I didn’t care about how painful and hard the job would be because at the time I couldn’t see myself doing anything else. It wasn’t until third semester of my senior year in high school that I changed my mind. I was enrolled in a class that required us students to go on career observations; my last observation was in a preschool special education classroom. As I sat and observed the teacher I couldn’t help myself from wishing that I were the one doing the instructing. Every child in the classroom had a unique mental or physical disability and the challenge of figuring out the best way to teach the children was inspiring. I made a special connection with a three-year-old boy named Owen. Owen has down syndrome and he is the cutest little boy I have ever seen. I was helping him hammer on a pegboard to improve his small motor skills when he stopped, took my face in his hands, and thanked me. It was at that very moment that I decided I wanted to be a special education teacher for preschoolers.…

Many people that choose to become teachers because someone in their family was a teacher. Some teachers started out in another profession and never thought about teaching at all. After watching the National Teachers of the Year and listen to their stories it has enlighten me on why I choose to be a Teacher. Why do I want to be a teacher? I want to be a teacher because I wanted to make a difference in a child’s life. I volunteered in many elementary schools with low-income families, and I would have students say Mr. P. I enjoyed learning today or you made this lesson fun. That is what made me say ok this is my calling. Teaching to me is a calling not a hobby. You have to be special to be called to teach. Many teachers are in the classroom because of a check and it is evident because of the way they treat their students. If you do not have the passion to teach why are you there? Children remember what we as teachers say to them and it will scar a child for life. Like Jenna Hallman from South Carolina, my home state a third grade teacher whose wish is to know that she has made a difference in a child’s life before she takes her last breath on this earth. I feel the same way. When I get ready to leave this earthly world I want my students to remember me as the teacher that made an impact on their life whether it be through a lesson or even through music.…

Why I Would Be a Teacher

Teaching is a very noble profession. In my country, there is a saying: “Quan, Su, Phu” meanings that the highest respectable position belongs to the King, second are the teachers then the parents. Many people love to teach but not everyone who wants to teach can become a teacher. According to Melissa Kelly in Top 10 Reasons to Become a Teacher. “Teaching is a special calling. It is not a job well-suited to everyone. In fact, many new teachers leave within the first 3-5 years of teaching.” Another article written by “Teacher Randall” titled Teaching is a Vocation – A Calling stated: “Teaching is more than a noble profession. It is a vocation, a calling. The teacher is the most important person in any civilization, as on him depends the molding of the nation. There are not many born teachers, but there are those who love teaching, and there are those who enter it as an occupation. The chief qualification for a teacher is his or her love for children; from there can follow the training by good teachers and professors of techniques and principles. Good teacher-pupil relationship is very important. A teacher must know that he or she is teaching, not only a subject, but a child. A teacher must know each child in his or her charge – especially in his early years – his temperament, his academic capability, his health, his bent, his home background and anything that may be hindering him from doing his best. This will equip teachers and help them to educate. Each child must taste success at the beginning by beginning with the simple to the complex, the concrete to the abstract, the known to the unknown and to develop at its own rate. This will give him confidence. A good teacher, by his/her methods will be able to motivate the pupil, awaken his interest, and arouse his curiosity. Teachers can make learning pleasant. They must exhibit energy, enthusiasm and cheerfulness, and never cease to learn themselves. A teacher who ceases to learn becomes…

I want to be a high school English teacher because I want the opportunity to make a difference in the world. While it may not be as big of a difference as I could see or make in another career I simply want the chance to change somebody’s life, and give my students the chance to do the same for me. I want to take someone who hates school and make them see the beauty that can be found in words, language and writing. I want somebody’s mind to be opened because of my teaching. Language is often referred to as an art, which is one of the reasons I love it so much. It is one of the few areas in school that is creative. I want to see the passion inside of students writing, as well as give them an appreciation for language. I do not want to be an English teacher just to give students a grade, or to sit there and judge their writing I want to show them that what they have to say is important and is worth more than a grade. I simply want to be there to give constructive criticism. I want people to view English class as an opportunity rather than an obligation. I hope to help people acquire a passion for learning, for people to want to pick up a book in their spare time and see where it can take them. I simply want to help people realize the places that language can take you.…
