This summary is discussed and about of the Why the catalog still hard to use?The definition of card catalog are which this types of catalog are more to the difficult to use and not support with their design does not incorporate sufficient understanding of searching behavior.Actually,the researchers indicates that the information seeking that users formulates questions in stages gradually coming to the point where can begin to articulate an query The examples of three layers of knowledge required for online catalog searching which are Conceptual knowledge.It is mean that the translating an information need into a reachable query . The second of layers of knowledge of required for online catalog are Semantic Knowledge which as to gain a process of how and when to use system features on future . The other of layers of knowledge of required for online catalogs are Technical skills.It is mean by the process of basic computing skills and the syntax of entering queries as specific search statement. We know that reason why the card catalogs and first end of generation online catalogs utilize the save data and same principles as do their predessiors ,the underlying records struture and access point remain the same . As far this research know, the conceptual knowledge are the process of translating an information need into a reachable query . Beside that, it is a difficult task whether conducted in the card or online catalog .
