Walgreens Reflection Paper
I am currently working at Walgreens as a pharmacy intern and I have seen many patients suffering from chronic disease conditions and they have none or very little knowledge of those disease conditions. I have seen many patients coming to us asking for over the counter medications for cold, cough and fever. Seeing the community suffering from sickness served as a huge motivation for me to educate them on preventative care to promote health and wellness of the community. So, as a part of a wellness program at Walgreens, it is my responsibility to remind or educate them for seasonal flu shot or other preventative vaccines. For example, I started reminding our patients about their seasonal flu shot or any other vaccines, when they come to pick

“Employers should not require employees to get immunizations because of possible problems with the American Disabilities Act (ADA) and other potential legal issues,” Biddle argues that employees should be paid for receiving vaccinations as it would be part of work time and employers would need to negotiate the issue with the union first if they were dealing with unionized employees. He adds that employers could be liable under workers compensation statutes if there are adverse reactions. Employers can have a list of vaccinated employees but under the ADA, it would have to be kept separate outside of employee records. If employers vaccinated on the site, all health information would require employees to release the information under HIPAA guidelines. Many hospitals require nurses to wear masks if refusing the flu vaccine, however, this practice violates HIPAA because the nurses refusing are patients and now everyone knows they're not vaccinated and this violates patient…

As a health care community, we need to ask ourselves if everything is being done to educate on the direness of the problem. We have continually educated on the importance of hand washing, yet physicians continue to not wash their hands. Hand sanitizers and sanitizing cloths can be seen in every public area from shopping malls to grocery stores and people are sneezing and coughing into their elbows. What more can be done? Should we make it more accessible and at a low cost for the public to receive the flu vaccine? Should we single out just the population at risk, infants and people with chronic diseases? Should health care businesses mandate healthcare workers receive the vaccine or wear a mask when at work? The answer is all of these. As a healthcare community, we need to find out the reasons why people do not receive the flu vaccine. One reason could be fear of getting the flu from the vaccine, another could be cost. Again, we cannot educate without finding out what the deficiency of knowledge…

Many people engage in community service project because they are either forced as a punishment or sentence. Others engage in community service out of Spirit of unselfishness, or a desire to connect with their communities by helping out. For me, it brings a sense of completeness. During the past few semester my team members and I have engage in different projects, Collecting food, clothes and donating to the homeless. In a way I’ve experience working the different organizations and helping the community. But with this particular project, it meant much more then collecting for the disadvantaged, It was about lending a hand and your heart to a community in need.. During my involvement in this fieldwork project I got the opportunity to offer my unconditional assistance for one day in a non-profit making community based project. This chapter focuses on the principles of biology. Biology is the scientific study of life. There are a lot of books that have been written over what the different spiritual gifts are and how they are supposed to be used. There are quite a few verses in the New Testament that covers the spiritual gifts and how we are to use them. In 1 Corinthians 12:4-8 we are told, “Now there are varieties of gifts, but the same Spirit; and there are varieties of service, but the same Lord; and there are varieties of activities, but it is the sane God who empowers them all in everyone. To each is given the manifestation of the Spirit for the common good. For to one is given through the Spirit the utterance of wisdom and to another the utterance of knowledge according to the same spirit.” The Bible…

Ever since I can remember people have been asking me this question. A question that is so simple to ask, yet so hard to answer. A question that you may have an answer to at one point, but lose it the next. A question that when really thought about, can spell your future. That question is “what do you want to be?” This question has always given me a hard time, because honestly I never really wanted to give an answer to it. Maybe it’s because I never wanted to limit myself to an answer or maybe I was just never sure of anything and I’m afraid to give a straightforward answer. This is my attempt on trying to word out my “vision” of who and what I want to be.…

Everyday students around the world are faced with choices, and each choice will have a negative or positive consequence. As stated in the passage several schools have strict rules against being on social sites while in school. With my high school being one of those schools, teachers and administrators think social sites are a bad thing but they fail to look at the positive aspects of social networking. For example Facebook helps you create study groups and online tutoring. Students who need extra help in school and is afraid to ask for extra help can go to Facebook and download a simple application and get the extra help they need in Math, English etc. In my opinion strict rules against using social sites while in school should be eliminated. Although all students don’t use Facebook to study but having strict rules against the use of social sites eliminates the last minute studying before test and it takes away peer-to-peer communication. For example when I was in high school me and my friends mostly communicated through texting, Facebook or Twitter. When it was time to leave school campus for lunch, we would just write on Facebook the dining location for the day, and everyone would just meet there. Not only is social networking used for studying it is also used for counseling or to express your feelings or concerns about a matter.…

Throughout the years we dream of the future. We dream of career and setting goals to become someone. I think of my future every day and ways to make it better. It’s important to know what I want in my life, otherwise I won’t be happy. I am still figuring out who I am and what exactly do I want to dedicate my life to. But my biggest goal in life is to be happy with whatever I’ll be doing. Enjoy life and just simply reach my dreams. I want to get a career, I want to travel the world, I want to explore and understand myself, I want to educate myself as much as possible and eventually I want a family of course. Right now I’m still growing and exploring life, making mistakes and taking chances. I’m trying to find myself in the right place, where I belong. For one thing I am sure of is that I want to be independent. That is why I want to get an education so I could have everything I want. I want to go to college and feel that I am progressing and growing as a human. I try different fields of education to see what will interest me the most. I have good math skills and I do a lot of thinking. I think all the time. I also like drawing, and I draw since I was little. I like doing makeup for others and I dreamed of becoming a fashion designer before. And since all of those things are so different, I’m not sure which way I want to go in life. As an option I’m thinking to go into business field or management because I believe there are many opportunities in this field. I will always find the job if I need to. But I wouldn’t give up other things that I like to do. While going to college and deciding who I want to become as a specialist, I am planning to go to the beauty school also. I want to take courses for makeup artistry. I always do makeup for all of my friends. And I think it would be great to have a hobby that brings me money. So while I’ll be studying at college I would be working somewhere by doing makeup for others so it benefits me in both ways. After two years…

In this homily, I have reflected that time is really short and I must show my parents that I really love them even if it is hard for people like me, or in my age, to express our love to them. I learned that God wants me to learn to love and to sacrifice not just for myself, but also for others because one day, I will be able to look back at all the things I have done while I was still young and I will be able to say that I was able to show my love to all the people that I love and to all the people who loves me. And of course, to be able to do this successfully, I must ask God’s guidance and pray to Him to help me show my love to whoever I want and to help me do sacrifices for me, for all the people I love, and for Him as…
