Together For Life
Abby and Brittany Hensel Abby and Brittany Hensel are conjoined, or dicephalus, twins. Not expected to live much past birth, these twins as of 2012 have graduated college, gotten drivers’ licenses and traveled overseas. They have separate heads but their bodies are joined at the pelvis. Several of their vital organs are doubled, but they have their own heart, stomach, spine, and spinal cord. Each twin controls her half of their body. Abby controls the right and Brittany the left. Interestingly neither can feel the opposite side of their bodies. With that being said, their ability to do things in such symmetry is absolutely amazing. They are able to swim, ride a bike, play a piano, type without hesitating or playing catch up on thoughts, drive a car, etc. And although each has their own brain, in watching them speak, you observe that they continuously finish each others’ sentences.
They have graduated college, each with their own degree in teaching. They will however only work one job and receive one salary. Seems unfair for all the hard work each girl put into an education and toward graduating. Many young people faced with something that seems so unfair may cope with life differently than these two amazing girls. I believe a big part of their emotional success is the strong support system they have. They were raised by parents that always encouraged them to develop their own personalities and that disciplined them no differently than they did their brother and sister. They have a big group of friends and have a very active social life including traveling, going to parties, hanging out with their friends and shopping. They seem to do what any girls

Although they found it easy to share what they felt about their friend each girl has a harder time figuring out how to deal with their own problems and successfully handling their challenges. The girl that impacted me the most is the story of Lekwon where she learned that she faced rejection twice with men over the color of her skin. With that rejection, she found it easier to have fun with guys than to get seriously involved with them because in her past, 2 men she dated long-term broke up with her because of her skin color and their own parent's…

To have a successful and lasting marriage, the individuals involved must lay a foundation consisting of key components to make it last. Students, APA formatting is not required, however, you are required to substantiate your responses and opinions with laws, cases, statutes, codes, regulations or anything else that gives credibility to your answers. Remember, this is a legal class. Also, remember to state issues, integrate facts, discuss both sides of an issue, thoroughly analyze each question in detail, and lastly, conclude, based upon your legal findings and premise. You can have more than one conclusion as long as you argue both sides of an issue. You don’t need one absolute conclusion. The most important thing in law would be your ability to see both sides, argue them, and present alternative conclusions based upon these factors.…

In some situations twins don't make it out alive and it's also very rare for them to survive. For conjoined twins, Knatalye Hope and Adeline Faith Mata, they shared a chest wall, lungs, part of their heart lining, diaphragm, liver, colon, intestines and pelvic area. That made the twins have a very small chance of making it through surgery. During surgery there was some complication such as, "Adeline's blood pressure fell to the point when the surgical team had to manually pump her heart to resuscitate her. She recovered after five to eight minutes." After surgery Knatalye Hope and Adeline Faith Mata were in critical condition, but are set out to survive." (Kiran, Randhawa). The surgery lasted over 26 hours but they twins…

    1. Gerald Tremain, the husband of Janet Tremain, the director of San Benito County’s Child Protection Services, had been convicted in Oregon, in 1984, of raping his then seven year old daughter every week for six months. The family moved to California, where he did not register as a sex offender as is required by law. In 1991 the grand jury was investigating Janet Tremain for supposed unprofessional conduct that put abused children at risk. Janet resigned from her job and it became known that Gerald Tremain was again molesting his daughter. Janet also admitted that she knew of the situation and did not report it. The final decision of the newspaper was to report the story about the grand jury investigating the allegations of unprofessional conduct by Janet and in an attempt to protect the daughter; they identified her only as a “relative” to Gerald.…

The Louisiana Purchase is arguably the greatest real estate deal in history. It more than doubled the size of the United States. We gained approximately 530 million acres of land for 15 million dollars; about four cents an acre. Before the purchase, the French had control over the land west of the Mississippi River. Therefore, by gaining this land, America also gained control of the Mississippi River and correspondingly, access to the Gulf of Mexico and the port of New Orleans. Because of The Louisiana Purchase, Americans had the right to trade profitable products at the port of New Orleans and the country became more independent. Also, the purchase provided America with the opportunity for westward expansion, which would result in the formation of new states.…
