The Two People That Have Influenced My Life the Most
The two people that have influenced my life the most are my parents. They are the ones that get to know us the best for who we really are, from our fortitudes to our imperfections. They have the greatest influence in our lives because they are the people we see the most and have known the longest. They forgo a lot of bliss in order to give their children the best possible. My parents have influenced my life and helped make me what I am today. Respect, Commitment, and moral values are just some of the principles they have implanted in me, as I grew older. But I still have a long way to go if I want to be as strong as my mother and as wise as my father. I now realize that all their actions in the past to correct my misbehavior were not pointless, but only to lead me in the right direction.
My dad is a man of his word; no one can take that from him. He is a strict and overprotective man. I’ve kicked and fuzzed many nights during my teenage years because he would not allow me to go out with my friends. But he taught me how to be honest, confident and most importantly respectful to others and myself. He is a humble hardworking man who loves his family unconditionally. Education has always been a big deal for him, he has always found fun and exciting ways for me to learn whether it’s studying for a quiz or just simply doing HW. Its so extreme that one day we even went out to buy paint to write on my back yard floor to play a game he called vocabulary hopscotch. Unquestionably, I am grateful to have my father as my mentor. When I think of my Dad, I just think of unconditional love. I see it in his big brown eyes when he looks at his family, when he smiles, and when he laughs. They say I am a lot like him, both physically and mentally. Ramon Anthony Gomez is his name, when I was younger my family called me “anthonieta” because of such a resemblance. My father is this tall, Indian colored man, a bit intimidating but when you get to know him, he’s nothing but a sweetheart.

There are few relationships in my life that could compare to the complexity of the relationship that I share with my father. I grew up hearing stories of his childhood when he grew up in a military family with eleven brothers and sisters, moving from state to state in the deep humid south. I grew up idolizing him because of the crazy wacky adventures that he and his older brother (his best friend) would always be involved in. I always pictured myself in his brother’s shoes living the memories along with my father. He lived in a time where kids could run out of the house in the morning and not have to return until the moon rises, a time of peace and simplicity. In retrospect I think my dad and his brother must have the worst neighbors as they terrorized the banks of the bayous getting wrapped up into all sorts of mischief. In his stories he was presented with several choices, some good, some bad, he didn’t always make the best decisions but he always learned from them and engraved in me the importance of learning from my mistakes, a character trait that was deeply seeded into me since the day I could comprehend English. The reason that my fathers’ life lessons have stuck with me so well is because he doesn’t preach to me about good and bad, he lets me live my life and is always there to help me when I screw up allowing me to live and learn. The lessons that are most important in life are the ones you learn from your mistakes, something that my dad taught me and I’d never forget.…

The people that has have influenced me the most are my parents. My parents are always there for me through thick and thin. They have taught me right from wrong and have guided me the right way throughout life. They have influenced me so much. Because of them I am a responsible young adult. I take responsibility for my own actions. They have taught me to care for others. There is a saying they used to always tell me. “Do to others as you would have them to do to you.” This saying is from the bible in chapter Luke 6:31. My parents have also greatly influenced my religious and political views, but I will not go into that. My parents also taught me to treat others equally because everyone has feelings and we are all the same on this inside. I don’t make fun of people or judge them by the way they look or how they act. They have also told me what not to do in life. For example, don’t drink, don’t smoke, don’t do anything illegal. These things can most of time ruin your life. I am so glad they told and taught me about these things at a young age because if they didn’t I might not…

Secondly, another reason why I admire my dad is his ability to admit his wrongs very easily and try to get others to balance him out. If my dad is unable to do something, he will let you know then and there, giving you enough time to make arrangements. People always say that it takes a man to admit wrong and since my dad is very good at doing this, I admire and respect him tremendously. Also, since he is very adamant on staying true to these values, he has always tried and instill these values into me, and for that reason I am thankful and appreciative as not everyone gets guidance like this.…
