Tension And Diversity Paper
Due to the lack of knowledge and understanding about different races at times tension can arise without the existence of being open minded to diversity. A certain group can come to think that they are better than another. One thing that can cases tension is stereotypes and preconceived notions about others. This way of thinking can show itself in the work force due to assumptions and manages making decision based on these assumptions can cause immediate tension. According to the University of Florida, such resistance can lead to slowed productivity, clashes between the new employee and his co-workers, and even legal action brought by the new employee for perceived hostility in the workplace (Vaux, 2016).

    When you go to work, you clock in, and you go about doing your job. You converse with your coworkers. You go to lunch with your co-workers. You even talk about what each of you is going to do on the weekend. This is a normal routine for you and for most people. Well, for some people, it is not. Lesbian, gay, bisexual, or transgender (LGBT) individuals struggle each and every day throughout their days to have a normal workday, like the rest of us tend to have.
