Strategic Issues University of Phoenix MBA 590 June 15, 2009 Strategic Issues In order to have a successful business, every organization must understand both their capabilities and their risks within the industry. Successful strategies will align the organizations mission with their processes in order to meet their customers needs. Strategic positioning requires an organization to recognize and continuously evaluate both short and long-term change and their effects. In recognizing and evaluating their effects, an organization can adjust the strategy for success. With construction costs and customer discontentment rising, strategic issues to content with are performance and design within the industry is critical. By analyzing the strategic issues of other organizations within the industry, H. G. Construction can learn what their organization will face in the future and be to apply this knowledge to their own organization to plan for success. Alligator Construction Alligator Construction originated in 2000 in Hobart, Indiana (Ferner, 2009). Alligator Construction held their grand opening of their showroom in their downtown area in 2008 (Ferner, 2009). Alligator Construction takes pride in actively participating in community outreach programs, focuses on offering quality products at competitive prices for their customers. Alligator Construction focuses on training their contractors to provide detail and craftsmanship within their work. According to Ferner (2009), They are members of Lake and Porter County Builders Associations, Chamber of Commerce, PTO, Better Business Bureau, Supporter of the Lupus Foundation of America, Participants of neighborhoods flooding of 2008 (para. 1). Strategic issues that Alligator Construction is facing are the surrounding industrys expanding competition with many other construction companies within the area.
