This year’s National Schools Press Conference (NSPC) and National Festival of Talents seat at Region8, April 7-12, 2012-2013. Ormoc City Division is expecting more than 4,000 student-participants from the different regions around the Philippines to join the national Schools Press Conference, likewise Tacloban City is expecting more than 2,500 participants to join the National Festival of Talents. According to Dr. Luisa Bautista Yu, Regional Director, Dep. Ed. Region 8 during the kick off on March 7,2013 at the Multi Purpose Hall, Ormoc City Hall, the region is very lucky as chosen to host these prestigious and not an ordinary event. She further said that the Dep.Ed. can’tt do it alone without the splendid support of the Local Government Unit (LGU) of both cities. Director Yu stressed that the region’s objective of these events is to ensure NSPC and National Festival of Talents an activity that participants will remember and cherish because Region 8 is hosting with a heart.
