NAME OF THE EVENT: DRUG SYMPOSIUM SEMINAR
DATE: JANUARY 25,2013
TIME : FROM 8:00 AM TO 11:00AM
VENUE: AUDIO VISUAL ROOM
NUMBER OF PARTICIPANTS:
Drug addicts abuse and are physically and mentally dependent on drugs or alcohol. Drug addicts continue to use drugs in spite of the negative consequences experienced by the drug addict and those around them. Overdose is frequent, as addicts continually use greater amounts of the drug, reaching dangerous levels.
They cannot physically or psychologically function without their drug and when they are not using drugs, they face sometimes dramatic withdrawal symptoms. In spite of all this, drug addicts crave drugs, resulting in the life of a drug addict being determined by their drug addiction. Most addicts find they need professional help to quit doing drugs.
As time goes by, more and more teenagers get involved with different vices and one of the most dangerous addictions is drug abuse. They are the most high at risk when it comes to this issue, since they can be influenced by their environment. For this reason, we made up our minds to have our first event as a symposium regarding drug abuse. Our targeted participants were the first and second year high school students of the University of Mindanao, Tagum.
It is our first time to really organize an event like this, but I am pretty confident with my groupmates, for I can see in them that they are really interested in this project. In the midst of making this event happen, we had a lot of difficulties though organizing such event wouldn’t seem to require so much of hardwork, but it did. We had a problem looking for a speaker, and since it was our first time, we didn’t know where to go to. At the end of it, we still managed to overcome those circumstances with the help of Sir Carlito Panganoron. He suggested us Sir John Michael Bantonare who certainly responded to our offer to make him our symposium speaker.
.After the major problem has been resolved, we proceeded to fix the other things that needed to be considered, like the program flow, the registration list, publicity to encourage participants and other minor touches to be done.
On the day of the event, it began at exactly 8:00 in the morning. Mr. Almencion was the one who introduced the speaker and his achievements. The speaker then started to impress us by being able to manage the attention of the high school students who listened from the point when the event started until it ended just before lunch at 11:00am.

VENUE: PEBRO B. SAN JOSE GYM
NUMBER OF PARTICIPANTS:
Valentine’s Day is all commonly known to be celebrated with our loved ones, which does not necessarily mean to just refer to the opposite sex. It could also be a day to give tribute and acknowledge the great role of our teachers in shaping the way we are today. As quoted by Henry Adams, “A teacher affects eternity; he can never tell where his influence stops”.
The second event we organized was the research and community extention and teachers day celebration with the theme Social Responsibility with Quality sponsored by the UMTC SSC led by Pres. Warren James Navarro. We really had a hard time looking for someone whom we could get the theme of this event. We went to a teacher who was also referred by a teacher who got mad when we tried to approach her, and so we just decided to leave her office because we were already frightened. Despite of that, we still looked for more possible ways to get this event done even though at times we seemed to give up due to some circumstances.
After we had an idea as to how to design the backdrop that would fit to the theme, others already started to arrange the tables and did logistical tasks. There were a...
