Public Dog Park Argument
It is my belief that Muscatine would benefit from the addition of a public dog park. Throughout this essay I will go through my thoughts, both for and against the idea of this park, and I will explain why I think the good outweigh the bad.

Physical excersize is greatly important to a dog's health, as well as their behaviour. In general, a dog will be happier and less likely to be violent or misbehave when it has had the opportunity to get outside and run or play. I am aware that there is the opposing side of this argument that mentions that uses the following example that "[cat owners aren't about to ask for a public catnip garden]", however there are some major faults in that argument as catnip is not an essensial ingredient to a cat's health or happiness. It is also something that is physically able to be utilized inside any place of residence, whether it be a large house with a backyard or a small city apartment. The same cannot be said of a dog's need for excersize. Dogs need space to excersize, and I believe that dog owners and their dogs should have a safe space to do so within.

One is regarding the inherrent noise. The argument brings up that the sound of the dogs barking and their owners yelling to them would disturb nearby residents and possibly cause a lack of sleep. This is an important point, and is why I say the dog park should have clearly posted hours for use, which coincide with the times people generally wake up and go to sleep on each day. Those times could be determined with a public survey of the nearby neighborhoods, or by looking at the most common working hours within a certain radius from the potential

    d) This article is dealing with health issues as it relates to the wellbeing of the animals at Marineland. The animals at Marineland are not getting the 100 percent care they need and deserve, but rather are living in poor conditions that are causing them to severely get sick and develop health issues due to the poor quality of water at the park. This article also deals with ethics issue because Dalton McGunity is not taking the right approach to this situation and not looking out for the betterment of the animals. As well this is an ethical issue on part of Marineland because many people consider this immoral as Marineland is not taking proper care of their animals and are at risk of dying.…

First, they mentioned the traffic congestion being an issue near any park that is built. Traffic should not be any more of an issue with a dog park than it would be with a park for children, a local coffee shop or movie theatre. This appeared to me as more of a grasp for straws in their argument rather than a legit concern for the community.…

When I was growing up my neighbors did not like when our dog would run into their yard while out playing. This made it almost impossible to let our dog run around in our small yard, because we lived in an apartment complex. Placing a dog park in a public area will garantee that owners can control there dogs without disatisfying neighbors. In the second passage the writer says that placing a dog park near a residential area will cause a disruptance to every day life. In order to please other inhabitants of Muscantine, the dog park should be placed near a public park or an area where the noise levels are already very high. In doing this the noise from the two parks will balance out causing near by inhabitants to not feel so interupted by the dogs…

Did you know that there's a law that a service dog is the only animal that can go in public places? I think that any service animal should be able to go to a public place as long as they’re helping someone. Monkeys are actually very smart and can help someone more than a dog can. Also other animals may keep someone calm, may help them carry something, and may even give someone exercise. But since this law is here no one is allowed to take any other animal but a dog to public places.…

The topic I choose to write about is “Pit Bulls – should this breed be banned?” Pit Bulls should not be banned. Over the past years in the United States, Pit Bulls have been portrayed as a breed who is extremely dangerous and untrustworthy that some States are banning ownership of this breed. This breed should not be banned simply because of unfortunate events. It is not until recently that the negative images these dogs are facing by the media started. One may hear or read headlines in the news stating “Child mauled by a Pit Bull,” or “Owner killed by a Pit Bull,” yet the media does not disclose that certain dog’s upbringing…

In this article, Thomas made a few observations about how valuable parks and green spaces are to cities and their inhabitants. He argued that parks and green spaces brings joy and people together. I agree with this fact as parks are perfect places for people to socialize. He also argued that nowadays parks are preserved. I disagree with this. In a rapidly urbanized world, parks have lost its value.…
