Gizmo On Dog Park
As a young child my family had a dog. We loved to play with him, but noticed that we had limited yard space to play games such as fetch or even tag. We lived in a small apartment complex, and were forbidden to enter other neighbors yard. My sisters and I felt that a dog park in our town would be just enough space to play without the drama of disrubting the neighbors. In the passage, Gizmo's owner strongly believes that there should be a dog park in his town of Muscatine, Iowa. I as a previous dog owner my self believe that this would be a great idea.
I have three reason why it would be a great idea for the city to put a dog park in the area.

One reason is it increases the mental and physical health of the dog. In the first passage, the dog owner states that the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA) believes that dogs that don't get much exercise tend to misbehave at home. Giving an owner a place to take there dog to run free gives the owner the chance to let his dog experience a happy and healthy environment. Having a healthy and happy dog then decreases the

When I was growing up my neighbors did not like when our dog would run into their yard while out playing. This made it almost impossible to let our dog run around in our small yard, because we lived in an apartment complex. Placing a dog park in a public area will garantee that owners can control there dogs without disatisfying neighbors. In the second passage the writer says that placing a dog park near a residential area will cause a disruptance to every day life. In order to please other inhabitants of Muscantine, the dog park should be placed near a public park or an area where the noise levels are already very high. In doing this the noise from the two parks will balance out causing near by inhabitants to not feel so interupted by the dogs

However, the city will also have the money they got from selling the property to help build the park. By building the park, you are also addressing the growing budget deficit by creating jobs. For example, you can charge people for boat launching or have a small appliance for fishing and snacks at the park. I think this is the best decision overall because you get to build the business complex which will create jobs and bring other businesses. Also, by building a small park, you will create more jobs and help Rid economy grow. The city want lose any money because the park will pay for itself by having festivals, appliance store and boat…

The response is on an article by Farhad Manjoo, which published in the New York Times which explains how recently how human beings and dog’s relationship have changed to the public. The author expresses his dislike about the dog, "No, I Do Want to Pet to Pet Your Dog," is a believe against the "cultural assumption the everyone must love dogs" and he is furious because "in the last decade, dog achieved dominion over urban America. They are everywhere now, allowed in the places that used to belong exclusively to humans, and sometimes only to human adults: the office, restaurants, museums, buses, trains, malls, supermarkets, barber shops, banks, and post offices". He expresses his opinion on how he feels about the dog left in public place that is reasonable and of great concern to everyone and I believe everything that pertains dogs. Farhad maintains that he doesn't "actively despise mutts," and while being in total accord with his opinion, we do disagree with him completely here.…

The sports park is old and falling apart. We need to improve the baseball field because the bases are gone and the fence is falling down. Get a better basket ball court because the hoops are getting worse and worse by the day. The nets on the hoops aren't even there they have fallen off and the wind blew them away. The reason why we need to improve the sports park is because some people go to the park to practice for a basket ball game or baseball game. Some people like to go there and play games with their friends.…

In my own opinion, I honestly dont think it would too bad to have a couple dog parks around. First of all, I'd have to agree that excersise and alot of attention is required by dog owners as their responsibility. Dogs need to be around other people and kids to realize that people are okay, if you keep them locked up in the house all day their not going to be very friendly, I also think its important for them to be around other dogs of all kinda. Other wise they aren't going to do good around other animals in public.…

On one side of the argument there is a town of dog owners that feel that the city needs to provide them with a dog park so that they can have their dogs learn to operate around other animals and people for that matter. In the article titled "A Dog Park With Benefits" they state "Dogs that don't get exercise can act out by barking and destroying things at home. Socializing is important too. If a dog doesn't learn to get along with ither dogs, it may attack a strange dog or person." Which is a very horrible thing for dog owners. From my experience I have seen a dog that has been held inside become feral at the sight of other dogs and on day broke out and attacked a woman and her dog and ended up seriously injuring both the dog and the woman.…
