• Planner to be knowledgeable about the program plan and have a background of the target group e.g. traditional beliefs and ethics
• Planner to put into consideration the perception of the target community • Program planning is affected by the influence of power that determines the preferred proposal from the decision-making process.
• Program planning for environment call for the planner to train and communicate to the community to collect data for decision making.
• Marketing : Product, place, price and promotion
• Product: designing products that outcompete the other competitors in the market
• Place: where the organization can make the products available to the consumers. A right distribution channel is important after considering the action and learnings from the competitors

• Price: The value of the product to the consumer and the rewards that the company will realize from selling the products.
• The program planner has to benchmark the price of the product with other competitors in the market. Small change in price can negatively or positively affect the product in the market.
• Promotion: can be applied by the planner depending on the level of agreement with the stakeholders. It help build a relationship with the audience.
• Budgeting: managing program budget through assessment of the financial operation
• Applicable in budget estimation to reach a level of certainty or acceptable risk related to the program plan.
• Contingency plan is created for cost overruns or prospective opportunities that may arise.

    Program planning is a process that shows the needs of a community and the reason and purpose for the programs an organization wants to set up to address that need. Through program planning; goals, objectives, activities, and evaluations are set up to provide the framework for the grant proposal to be written. A well written grant proposal will show the reader that the organization writing the proposal truly understands the problems within a specific community and it will convince the reader that they want to provide the financial help that will be necessary for the organization to solve the problem. Once a problem within a community has been discovered, an organization figures out how to confront that problem and writes a grant proposal to explain that problem and how it plans to help solve that problem, by proving that they understand the situation. The grant proposal starts with the premise, which explains the understanding the organization has about the problem and shows the belief they have that they will be able to provide the help necessary to solve the problem. The conclusion portion of the grant proposal explains the ways that the organization plans to address the problem through the programs and services they will provide to the community. Finally, the grant proposal will provide a detailed explanation of what they plan the outcomes of their programs to be. The organization has to prove that their programs will truly be an asset to the community using their grant proposal by making sure that each part of the proposal will compliment the other through a descriptive and flowing argument and by making sure that each part of the grant proposal compliments the other.…

    I finally got that position as a program manager with SWFAS (Southwest Florida Addiction Services) that I had a lot of interest in. The program that they offer to clients is one that I am very interested in. The program offers help to all people who have chemical substance addictions. The organization conducted a needs and problem assessment and found that the need to open a new program for people who are addicted to prescription medications. We are putting into effect a theory to apply a practice to help the program. The inputs that we are using to establish intervention to our clients is one that will be monitored closely. Our outputs are that we are going to provide counseling to people that struggle with prescription drug abuse and give them the necessary tools for treatment. We will establish evaluative research to the program and measure it on the success that our clients have. We will use descriptive research on the part of the program that has success and see which parts work the best.
