Problem Solving in a Professional Life

Through out life you will always have problems, problem solving is a skill that will always be used weather in your personal life or Professional. I will discuss what problem solving is, the different approaches to it and how I personally will use it in my professional life.

First lets look at problem solving. What is problem solving? Kendra Cherry Psychology expert defines problem-solving as the mental process that people go through to discover, analyze and solve problems. We regularly use this mental process of discovering and analyzing problem on a daily basis.

I use different processes of problem solving at work. As a technician i regularly uses Trial and Error its not the quickest or most scientific method of problem solving but it is one of the easiest in my field. While using this technique i would narrow down the problem to a few areas then i would remove and replace parts in that area till the problem is solve. When i’m having trouble isolating a problem i will use a rational approach to the problem using logic and a step by step guide to the problem. Using this step i may not always solve the problem but i will be able to break it down and isolate the issue.

I will continue to use both this approaches as i further my career as a technician. Using a rational approach letting logic guide my steps in a technical field, i believe this is the best approach to discover and analyze a solution to a problem. Problem solving will be a constant in life weather your in a technical field such as computer engineering, or a consulting field which deals with people. Everyone knows how much problems a person has and how different they are to technical problems. I for one prefer a straight up technical problem to personal problem anytime.

He began to hit the walls and the glass on the doors. As my patient became more and more furious, I assessed the situation and my patient. I tried to think of what might be causing this aggression.
