Personal Narrative-Soflty In High School
I slept soflty in my room, meanwhile, Auston snored loudly. The sound echoed across the house. The sound nearly woke me up, but I managed to keep my eyes shut. There was an ambient sound that awoke me. My phone blared and I hastily rushed to investigate the noise. My mom was calling me, so I answered, “Hello?” She explained to me that she had to leave for work, and Auston and I were home alone. She also asked if we were on our way to the school bus stop. I checked my phone. It read 8:50, and the school bus departs at 9:00. “Yes we are on our way”, I responded and hung up.

Auston, my twin brother, was still asleep. I rushed to his room, shook him, and screamed to get up because we will miss the bus. Auston jumped out of bed and started to throw clothes on to himself. In a panic, I put clothes on, picked up my bag, and ran out the door. Both of us sprinted to the bus stop. Sweat dripped down our faces and the sound of books clapping together grew loud. The bus stop was 5 minutes away from our house. It was 9:00. When we arrived at the bus stop, the bus had already departed. My brother looked at me with a devious look. I knew that look. He was about to start an argument with me, but I wasn’t going to take it. No matter what happened, arguing with me wasn’t going to solve anything. I suggested “Let’s start walking to school”. He agreed knowing there was no other option.

School started at 9:35, and it was a 50 minute walk. Auston had given up on any other solutions to get to school on time, but I hadn’t. I thought to myself what other ways we could arrive to school faster. Cars drove by. Auston and I watched them as they passed. “Only if we had a car to drive”, Auston wished. My brain sparked. “You’re genious!” I responded. We need to ride a car to get to school on

“Next Stop, Edgewater Park.” the bus driver said as I gathered my luggage together and got ready to get off at my stop. This wasn’t the first time I rode the bus to my grandparents’ house, but this ride seemed peculiarly longer. As we arrived at the stop I felt anxious because I haven’t seen my grandparents in about two years on my 12th birthday. I stepped off the bus and pulled out the note my mom gave me before getting on the bus.…

As we walked along a dark chilly hallway I was scared, when I’m scared I cry but surprisingly my eyes were rather dry. I could hear a catchy and familiar tune in the distance. As we walked it got louder until I could make out what it was and then we stopped. I felt something wet on my cheek and used my hand to wipe it off. It was a tear. “Wait! I moved my hands” I exclaimed. Now back in control of our bodies we followed each other voices and huddled together. My brothers were as scared as I was, I could hear fear roaring in their voices but they tried to hide it. We were all talking at once trying to make sense of what was going on when another tune ripped through the air. “Here’s my number, so call me baby” sang the two idiots I shared a womb with for nine months. Before I was able to comment on…

“Stop the car!” in a frantic panic voice as I was running after the family car. “Mom don’t leave me!” I yelled, as my family drove off without clue that I was not in the car with them. As I came to a halting stop, my heart was pounding a hundred miles a minute. I was sweating so much; it felt I had played a full game of basketball. I couldn’t believe my eyes. Perspiration and tears filled my shirt as I stood in shock at the corner 7-Eleven convenient store. A typical Friday gas up for our weekly routine trip to Austin had just turned into nightmare of an event. Asleep in the back of the wagon when we had stopped for gas, I woke up and went into the store to buy some candy. I didn’t tell anyone where I was going, understandably, being that I was only seven years old and I was only thinking about myself.…

Finally, I saw a vehicle coming. It’s about time, I thought. We’re going to be late to the movie and what would you guess? It wasn’t my ride, it was my mom. I was so bored that I decided to hide behind the door in my house and scare my mom as she came in. She wouldn’t expect it since I was supposed to be gone. So I ran inside and hid. I stood far in the corner so that she wouldn’t see me as she walked to the door. I couldn’t wait to see her reaction since every little thing seemed to scare her. Then I heard the car door shut. The key hit the lock, and she opened the door. As she walked in, I jumped out and screamed. She dropped everything she was carrying and screamed too. As she turned around, she threw a punch but stopped before she hit me when she realized it was just I. Needless to say, she slapped me anyway. I couldn’t help but laugh at her. If you would have been there to see the look on her face, you would have laughed too.…

“It was my best friend Amy’s 16th birthday and we had just finished celebrating. Janet, my other friend, needed a ride home. Since I’m not allowed to have anybody else in my navy blue Honda Accord, Amy offered to give Janet a ride in her raspberry red Ford Explorer. Since Janet’s house is a block away from my house, I told Amy to follow me so Janet didn’t have to worry about giving directions. Seeing as she wasn’t too good at doing so anyways. We came upon a stoplight just as it turned yellow. I zipped right on through. It didn’t occur to me that Amy and Janet would have to wait for the light to turn green. As soon as I realized that that was the case, I pulled over to the side of the road to wait. With an open space of dried out weeds to my right and a field of wet, green, grass to my left, I kept my eye on the rearview mirror so I knew when to pull back out in front of them. I don’t know what, but something to my…

It was a cold rainy day. Droplets of water trickled down the foggy window, and I knew immediately that it was gently drizzling outside. As I was slowly extricating myself from bed that morning, I wondered, how did I wake up? I never woke up in the morning by myself. Usually, I would only arise from my lazy slumber after hearing my mother’s “morning call”. Those thoughts left me and I continued on my routine. As usual, I went into the bathroom to bathe, brush my teeth and after that, put on my school uniform. When I was ready to have my breakfast, I shot a quick glance at the clock on the wall. It screamed 7.00 a.m.! Late! I am late to school! I ran out of my room frantically in search of my mother as she prepares my breakfast every morning. Something was just not right, and I could not ignore this sinister feeling that I was having.…

‘What do I do?’ I pondered, contemplating my to-be ill fate that would face me if I were to arrive to my history class late, the teacher cornering me with whatever dark punishment they had in store; heaven forbid the thought. ‘Wait, I know, the bus!’ Running to the bus stop that goes to my college, praying that there’ll be a conveniently placed bus awaiting my gracious arrival. But no, awaiting me at the bus stop was a sight of the bus driving into the distance; it’s red rear taunting me like an exceedingly evil villain. ‘You’ve got to be kidding me,’ feeling as though my frustration would erupt at any moment, I sat myself on the bench to reflect on the situation. ‘Maybe I should just accept the circumstances,’ I felt powerless, as if there’s nothing I could do. Slowly the foresight of me being stuck in my history teacher’s mental dungeon started to linger into my head; the thought alone pulled me straight off the bench, I knew at that precise moment that I had to get to college.…

The alarm clock rang. I slowly turned over to look at the clock, 7:35. What 7:35! I jumped out of bed as fast as I could. How long was it going off for? Why did I not wake up? I had so many questions going through my head, but I only had 10 minutes to hurry up and get ready. Hair, teeth, makeup, and soccer gear that’s everything I thought to myself. At the exact moment I heard the loud squealing of the buses brakes. I took off running as fast as I could through the neighbor’s yard and to make things even better it was raining. The rain drops felt like a slap to the face as they hit me. As I got to the bus stop the bus left. I stood there for a moment letting the large rain drops bounce off my skin. Then I started walking to school. I knew right then and there that this was going to be a really bad day.…

It was a usual, boring day in class and the teacher was not in because she had a meeting to attend to. My hands were clammy. The sweat on the back of my neck was trickling as I was shivering vigorously. I clasped my hands together and slowly looked up to glimpse at the wall clock. As I watched the second hand of the clock ticking away, I gasped. Desperately, I glanced back at my good friend Shilpa, seated behind me. “I need to go” I mouthed these words to her and signaled her with my eyes the direction of the nearest loo. Shilpa just looked skeptically at me and raised an eyebrow. Quite the contrary, she got out from her seat anyways, and the both of us bustled down the school hallways to the loo.…

“Auch! Please stop!” I heard mum cried, “I’m begging you!”. “Go to hell f***ing cow!” dad yelled. The clock at my nightstand displayed 00.13. Even though I went to bed 9 o’clock I hadn’t had a wink of sleep yet. What if dad was going to hurt her? I had to do something; I could not let something like that happen. Therefore I motivated myself to go to the hallway and tell him to stop. Unfortunately, I did not understand that by doing this, I put fuel on the flames. I tiptoed out in the hallway. Mum was moaning on the floor. Tears started to stream down my cheeks. “Dad, why can’t you stop?” I cried. Immediately I regretted my exclamation, because dad did not stop. In spite of what I told him to do, he broke down a lamp from the wall and threw it at mum, who still laid at the floor with difficulties breathing. “Dad, stop it, why are you doing this!” I shouted, while I ran towards mom to check on her. Dad stopped me, grabbed me firmly by the arms and pushed my down the stairs. Everything went black, I fainted.…

As an orphan, it was not easy for me to get acquainted to strangers. I had built a wall over the years to protect myself from being hurt. The fatal incident of a robbery left me broken and shattered. I could vividly remember the bloody tragedy. After my tuition class on Friday night, I came home in my friend’s car. When I arrived, I felt strange as mom and dad did not lock the door and left the gate wide open. Quietly and suspiciously, I walked into the house sensing something terrible might have happened. In front of the doorstep, to my horror were my parents and twin brothers sprawling right across the carpet. I was paralyzed with fear. Blood was oozing. Mom and dad were lying on their stomachs holding each other’s hands. My twin brothers were heavily injured with slashes of knife cuts on their heads and back.…
