CHAPTER -1 INTRODUCTION

INTRODUCTION Business means busyness or the state of being busy. However , in a specific sense,business includes all occupations in which people regularly engage in activities with a view to earning profit. Such activities may consist of production or purchase of goods for sale, or exchange of goods or providing services to satisfy the needs of others. It includes lot of activities. Sulfex Mattress Company is a profit is a fast growing entity founded in the year 1994. Sulfex is one of the growing entity in India for rubberized coir mattress under one location. It also manufactures companion products like pillows, cushion,bolsters,congers etc… The company has promoted by Mr. M.T.P Mohammed Kunhi from Thrikaripure (Kasargode dist). The numerous ‘product excellence’ Award that have come sulfex’s way as standing as growing testimony to the brand superiority. In every organization has different departments .Marketing is one of the important function.Marketing is a process that direct the flow of goods and services from producers to consumers.

OBJECTIVES OF THE STUDY: * To study the overall performance of Sulfex Mattress Company. * To study in detail about the marketing department of Sulfex Mattress Company. * To know about the organizational structure of Sulfex Mattress Company. * To make recommendation; if any based on the findings of the study. SCOPE OF THE STUDY: The report is concerned with sketching a fair picture of Sulfex Mattresss Company.It covers every aspects relating to the company and details of all departments .This project gives a picture related to the company and its contribution to the economy as such. METHODOLOGY: The report on the descriptive study conducted at Sulfex is a project work that depends heavily on data collection. The sources of data are primary and secondary.
