My weekend at the mountains
It was 8am and the alarm started going off but I was already up. I was so excited, My girlfriends and I were getting away for the weekend. We were going to the mountains. It was late October and the leaves were starting to change color. My bags were packed. I had packed them three days earlier. I was dressed and ready. We arrived at the cabin at about 2pm. We had stopped by some little country restaurants and souvenir shops on the way. When we pulled up at the cabin, my jaw dropped. The cabin looked like a castle. It was huge. I jumped out of the car before the car completely stopped. I ran into the house as fast as I could. It was breathtaking. There were high vaulted ceilings, skylights, elegant furniture, and amazing art work on the walls. There was three floors and there was everything you cold possibly imagine in this house: pool tables, jacuzzis, satellite radio, TV, heated indoor pool, 2 kitchens. I really felt like a princess in my

It was going to be a short ride only about 4 hours altogether through the South Dakota mountains. About an hour into our ride, we reached the mountains and as soon as we did Brody, Eli, Maddy, and I rode our horses to the top of the mountains. When we reached the top of the mountains we got off our horses and looked out over the South Dakota scenery, it was a beautiful view. I have never seen a better view in my life. You could see so far since we were up so high in the air and when we looked down at Tommy and Cassie they looked like ants. After we took a few pictures we headed back down to Tommy and Cassie. We went a little further after we got down from the mountain and then we turned back and headed towards camp. We arrived back at camp we washed, fed, and watered the horses. When we were done with that stuff we made a fire and started carving on sticks for a competition we were having and then at about 11 we went to…

Driving down Highway one on a weekend vacation, my wife and I arrive at a little town by the name of Carmel. We decide to stop and drive around this beautiful town. We stop at the beach for a while and enjoy the beautiful day. After enjoying the day we leave the beach and drive a different way than when we came in to the town earlier that day; we get lost. As we are trying to get back to Highway one we turn on Rio Road and come onto one of the most beautiful buildings we have ever seen. We decided to get off and look inside; since we saw a parking lot and a couple of cars parked in the parking lot. When we went inside we found out that the beautiful place we were…

The day finally came that we were moving into our new house. The beat up trailer home that occupied my time as a little baby was finally becoming a distant memory as we headed into a new journey in our lives as a family. The idea of a new house excited me to the point where the seatbelt could not contain the six year old boy. Who knew the fantastic times waiting behind that door that stood at the end of the long drive way. Capturing the essence of comfort, security, and freedom this new house offered many areas for great memories to be…

It was the night of March 15, 2012. I was tossing a turning, but the reason I remember this dream was because I rarely have any, being that I always have deep-sleep patterns. I had suddenly appeared in my father’s home by the dining room table. I recall it strangely being my birthday and I was celebrating it with my father, sister, and grandmother, but I do not know how old I was becoming. One thing I quickly noticed was that my mother was missing. The whole event was moving way to fast and I had no control over what was going on. My father began to walk up to me and handed me over the deed to our house! I was shocked and confused over what had just happened. I did not understand why he would do such a thing.…

When I open the door it was like a home filled with love and purity my ideal home it was just perfect. As soon as u walk in you see an average size kitchen on the right and a big bathroom with a bedroom on the left and when you keep walking straight there is a living room and a balcony with the most spectacular view of the pier and upstairs there is a bathroom and two rooms. For the first week or so it felt like I was in heaven waking up in the morning and looking upon the whole town covered in fog going to the rocks and looking for crabs, snails, and shells. One day we decide to go to the ocean and although it was cold we went and started searching for shells and then we found something that I happen to know what it was but never actually felt it alive and fresh out the water. I picked it up and showed it to my friend and we started running to the apartments and showed everyone what we found, everyone had their mouths open and started to touch it. There was a tiny voice that started to say to put the purple starfish back because it deserves to live and so i went back and tried to go as deep as I can to lay it down so no one will harm it. For many days we went to the beach till sunrise to sunset watching the tides rise and decrease and seeing the…

They were so happy for me, they told me to go clean up, so I did. While I was combing my hair in the mirrior, I was thinking, what about if her family doesn’t like me, especially her father, which is Charles Dickens. It's 6:00, and I comb my hair one last time, and tell my parents i’m leaving. On the way to her house, I tell myself that everything is going to be fine, and I start singing my favorite song again. I finally reach her door step, and ring the doorbell. She answers the door, and she looks as beautiful as ever. She tells me to come in, and before we ate we talked for a bit. I told her a little bit about me, like how I have been a chimney sweep since I was five years old. I tell her this is my last year as a chimney sweep, because i’m getting to old. Then she tells me about herself, like how she has nine sibling, but one of them died when she was only one year old. We finished up talking, and went to the dinner table to…

When my mom first asked me if I would like to go to a sleep away camp, I was not sure if I could be away from my family for 2 weeks but my family really must have wanted to get rid of me. They kept on encouraging me to go, eventually, I was convinced, it does not hurt that 2 of my close friends were going too. Before I left I had to pack for a very long time it felt like forever. I did not know it then but I was packing all the wrong things. When the time came for me to get ready to drive up to North Carolina I was so nervous that I may have chickened out and staid at home. During the twelve hour drive my friend and I could not stop talking about all the possibilities. we had looked online a ton to see what the camp would be like. There were, mountains a huge lake and even more fun activities! Every sport you could imagine of was there. The closer we got to North Carolina the less nervous and more exited I was getting. I woke up feeling kind of queezy because of everything I had to drink last night. It all just seemed like this rapid dream but it was actually reality. I had woken up early a little to early it was 7 A.M. and I was ready to take on the world but before I can do that I had to go visit Mr. Spencer. He's been sick for the past couple of days and I wanted to make sure this guy was alright he's a pretty old guy and I need to make sure no funny buissness is going on. After I was done at Mr. Spencer's house I got on the next train to the city it was a cold cloudy wednesday afternoon it was almost to the point where it seemed like it wanted to snow, I was praying to god that it wouldnt snow because I don't have my warm mits I hadn't seen them sincewhen I was at Pency. I got to this nice little diner around the corner of hoover and 5th Ave. it was practically empty except for this guy sitting at the counter and this blonde girl sitting in a booth all alone. I sat in the booth across from her sitting in the opposite bunk I tried not to stare at her but I couldnt help myself. She wasnt like these other girls that are walking around half naked in this cold weather she looked like this smart girl because she was reading a book I've never heard of "Gone With the Wind" it was a thick book thicker than my black greasy hair. I didn't have the…

That night was the most difficult, as I did not get a wink of sleep, but how could I? After seeing such a beautiful woman, what man would be able to resist such a temptation? I wanted to see her again; I needed to see her again. I had to know she was real. I had to know that I was not crazy, and that perfection did exist, as I had just witnessed it in her. I lay on my bed, watching the sunrise through my window. I rose, and wandered off to a nearby field. I come here to reminisce and appreciate how beautiful the world is, inhaling the natural beauty infused in the flora. I lay beneath the oak tree, so peaceful and pleased. I could hear the soft voice of a woman, whispering sweet melodies. I thought this odd, as I know no one often…
