Fourth Of July Research Paper
My Fourth of July It all started about three or four years ago when my friend or as some people may consider her as my sister invited me to go for two weeks to a beach house for the fourth of july with her family. As soon as the sun was up we hit the road for about five or six hours until we finally arrived to cayucos which in this case was next to moral bay where ¨finding dory was filmed¨. As soon as the car stopped we ran out the car and started running towards the ocean as you hear the waves smashing towards each other. Looking up you can see pelicans flying free and the warmness of the sun hugging your skin. For many days we went to the beach till sunrise to sunset watching the tides rise and decrease and seeing the

What is the first thing that goes though your mind when you hear the words Memorial Day? What does it mean to you? What symbolization does it hold in you? Ladies and gentlemen, sadly enough, the true meaning of Memorial Day has been seemingly lost by the majority of Americans today. Many confuse this day for Veterans Day or even Armed Forces Day. Although it is highly appropriate to honor all our veterans, living and dead, and to recognize their immeasurable contributions to our country, this is not the true meaning of Memorial Day. When I asked you what the day means to you…what is symbolized to you, what went through you mind? Did you simply think of it as another federal holiday? A 3-day weekend? The beginning of the 100 days of Summer…a BBQ? Or did you think of a mother…

It was December 24, 1918 in the trenches of France. I was looking around the trenches at my comrades. The desperation on each face was heart wrenching. We had not had meat in over a month. The snow was a foot thick blanketing the entire landscape. The trench look like it was on fire with the breath of smoke leaving each tired mans mouth.…

One July Fourth, my family, a friend, and I were at my mountain house, as we are every July Fourth. A few years ago, we decided that we were going whitewater rafting down the Nantahala River, in Western North Carolina, on a category 3 course. It was a gorgeous day, but it had drizzled a little that morning; the temperature was perfect, around 70°. The sky was a beautiful Carolina blue and the…

Slamming the door open to my room I jumped onto my cosy bed, the soft fur tickling my sides as a just started at the ceiling above me. My favourite part of the day where I could just relax and just doze off into my imaginations. My eyes wondered to my light blue walls which were covered with my best memories with my friends and family in photos. My room was the only place where I could feel comfortable being myself and everything I loved was here. My room defined me, reflected my personality, my hobbies and my likings. The smell of lavender filled the room, my favourite scent, it always made me feel happy and always calmed me. Slowly my eyes shut as I let sleep take over me.…

On April 8th-13th, during Spring Break of 2008, we were living in Yorktown, Virginia and my family and I decided to take a vacation to Goldsboro, North Carolina to celebrate my 15th birthday. It is also a place to go swimming and ride ATV's (four-wheelers), dirt-bikes, go-carts etc. This fantastic place is called "Busco Beach". When driving, it only takes four to five hours to get there, depending on traffic. When we arrived, we unloaded the four-wheelers off the trailer, set the camper up for all of us to sleep in, and we had such a fantastic time until the third day there.…
