My Smart Goal
My first SMART goal was, “By the end of the course, I will have worked efficiently with my team and with my own individual work in order to receive an A in the course”. Although I will not receive an A in the class, I am proud of the progress I have made in the class. I was able to receive a 91% on the midterm which has allowed me to skip taking the final. I am very proud of the grade I received because it reflects the amount of effort I have placed into the class thus far. I have made mistakes in the past regarding the SAR and missed quizzes which has served as a lesson to learn from. I must take responsibility for my actions, correct myself and then keep moving forward.
Secondly: “By the end of the semester, I will have led our group in a minimum of two assignments and taken a role as co-leader for the remainder of projects in order to work on skills that will benefit me as I transition into the workforce”. Instead of leading, I have learned how to work better with others. Taking the sole lead was not necessary for my group. We all worked well together and were there to help one another. I did succeed with achieving half of that goal. I have grown to be a better teammate, better with cooperation, better in delegation, better with time-management and better with holding myself accountable.

Completing my work, the day before leaves me enough time to spend the due date revising my work in order to get a better grade”. This goal was attained. Being in a productive and hard-working group has allowed me to work on getting work done well ahead of time. We consistently met to work on an assignment with at least 5 days prior to the due date. This has allowed us to make any type of alterations later on that we found necessary. We never left things for the last minute which has resulted in extremely satisfactory

Honestly, while I was getting the smart and focus two assignment done I imagined myself setting up different types of goals and not achieving any of them. The reason I predicted this was because usually when set an objective for myself it usually backfires as a result of me not being very motivated. Nevertheless, I gave these tasks a chance to hopefully learn new strategies for the future to manage my academic and, in the long run, my career. In addition while I usually fail at achieving my goal I hoped that this new strategy would help me create a more realistic goal.…

I had to plan ahead in order to make sure that I accomplish the assignments for this class while still attending the board meetings for the organizations I was a part of. By looking at my Participation paper I was there for a majority of my class days and the only reason I missed class was because of really bad allergies and when I received bronchitis for week and a half. By going to class I was able to get tips on how to make my work better and how to accomplish the tasks given to us better thus making it less stressful for me to finish the project meaning I was more likely to finish the project earlier than the time given to us. When I realized that going to class and doing my work before the due date made me less stressed out I tried my hardest to always finish my work in all my class on time making me have a less stressful week. Another example of my improvement in this area is when we look at my Communication improvement profile paper written in the beginning of the year. I wrote the paper the night before and really didn’t look at the rule brick on how everything needed to be organized. When looking at this paper I followed the rule brick the best I can and wrote this paper before the due date allowing me to continually correct the grammar mistakes I have made and other problems that could have been found in this paper. Taking…

My 5th short target was to meet the deadlines of coursework. I was able to do my coursework on time because I started to concentrate on class and my teacher also helped me while I was having difficulties. When I look back at my target when I set my self, I believe I have improved a lot. For my medium goal I set my self four targets which were getting distinctions on my course, get a place in university, complete my UCAS form and get a suitable job. The word SMART is an acronym which actually stands for something in this case. The S stands for specific meaning that your goal must be specific. For example you can say a goal for you is to graduate at the end of the year, but that is too vague. You must be specific to a better goal would be to pass this course so I may move on to the next one. M stands for Measurable, meaning that your goal must be measurable so you can see progress. A stands for attainable, so something that is achievable, something that you can actually reach. R stands for realistic, meaning that, is it realistic that you can pass the class by not showing up, the answer to that would be no. So a realistic goal would be to show up to class because that is important to passing the class. T stands for timely. Give yourself a reasonable amount of time to achieve your goal.…
