Title: My memorable experience.

Throughout life I have had many memorable experiences. The memorable events could be from the worst to the best that I couldn’t explain it myself. But, there was this one moment where I could not get it off my mind for the very moment. The best day of my life was definitely when Mum announced that we are going to South Korea for vacation. I could not believe my ears. Could it be an April Fool? It couldn’t be, it wasn’t even 1st of April. That day was one of the memorable because of the dream I’ve had since I was 11. Who knows that dream could actually come true? What made it more exciting was, we just finished our first semester examinations. I couldn’t stop thinking of stepping to South Korea while doing the papers. As soon as school ended, we headed to Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) for departure. Around 12 midnight, MH0066 passengers were called for boarding. Nothing sounds so exciting at this very moment. The journey took six hours as we succeed in taking our beauty sleep in the flight. I’ve been thinking what to bring home as souvenirs since the money currency there is high. The next morning, we arrived at Incheon International Airport in South Korea. It was just like other dreams, the one that I’m awake in. I pinched myself; there were no signs of dreaming. It was about to change season at the moment. I’m on the country where my Oppas are. If you still don’t get it, I am actually a Kpop fan that makes me so excited on how this trip is going to be. Being to South Korea is probably dream of every Kpop fan girls. I am so grateful that I had this chance in the same time, have a leisure time to appreciate God’s creation. After that, we took a flight to Jeju Island. It is one of the must-go places in South Korea. The scenery there was so eye-catching. The beauty of God’s creation that science could not even explain. The roads were crystal-clear. You could see along

Excited and nervous our family moved on August 10, 1997 to Hollister, CA. not knowing what the future held for us. The flight from Manila, Philippines to San Francisco, California was an 18 hour flight. The plane was congested with travelers some looked like frequent flyers and some looked anxious like us. My siblings and I wore the same color of clothing, red. My brother and I wore a red polo shirt, brown slacks, black shoes. Our hair was parted in middle and combed to the side just like the popular Backstreet Boys had it. My sisters wore a red dress with a white ribbon around their waist, with black slip-on shoes while their hair were scrunch up. We all sat next to each other looking as if we were going to a big dance or to a special event. It was our first time flying and we all felt special, thrilled, joyful and oblivious. After spending my…

The thirty hour journey was strenuous, including two layovers and three different transfers in Miami, London, and finally Nairobi, Kenya. Our final destination was Mombasa, to which we rode a plane that reminded me of the magic school bus. The seats were narrow, the space was congested, and you were able to feel every turn the pilot made. When we finally made it to Mombasa, it was nearly two in the morning and the sky was illuminated by the sensational stars. Mixed emotions began to run through my head. I was terrified of anything bad happening but curious as to how the experience would be.…

Malia and I were very excited about the trip. We had planned it for more than one and a year and a half. The radio was playing in the background. I heard something about a new rumor about cruises disappearing in the middle of the Pacific Ocean. It was like the Bermuda triangle. A new way to sell souvenirs I thought. The bags were packed and our passports were lying on the kitchen table, ready to be used for the first time. My family was somewhat poor compared to other families in our city, so we very rarely travelled. I always had a dream about going on a big cruise from my hometown San Francisco to Japan… But while that had been my dream for more than 10 years, I never believed that it would never happen.…
