Bibliography: Hugs of Pearls started as a family business in the home facility in 2007. As our clients progressed we were able to open up a new building. We want to bring our home into our new building. We want our children to feel love and secure just as they did in our wonderful home. We now hold 40 children and 20 before and after school children. Even though we have grown from our 12 children and 5 before and after school children we can still give each child the love and attention they need on a daily bases. We have a total of 5 employees working for Hugs of Pearls that way each child will be giving enough attention by his or her teacher at all times. It also makes our parents happy to know that their children are in smaller ratios because it gives them the security to know that their children will be able to be watch at all times. When our after schools come in we have two part time workers who come in to help with the after school kids. We have a lot of different activities that we allow our children do while we are at our facility. We have three groups come in each week on three different days. Mondays are Music Mondays, Wednesdays are Spanish Wednesdays, and Friday are Stretch and Grow day each giving our children the ability to learn something new and find the passion in something beautiful. When it comes to curriculum our birth to 24 month old babies begin to learn about the world from their experiences with the adults in their lives. Our teachers are trained to use the Comprehensive Infant and Toddler Curriculum which was developed specifically for the education of your baby. This curriculum provides everything necessary for a teacher to create a classroom environment that will have a very positive impact on your baby’s growth and development. It is our goal that all infants and toddlers in our program will be supported by loving and kind teachers who encourage their early development. Children 2-5 years of age will enjoy reading, writing, and arithmetic with the approach of our nationally acclaimed curriculum. Every day your child will gain new skills through stories, problem solving, and phonics that will simply amaze your family and friends. Children’s Lighthouse Learning Centers believes that this workbook curriculum, along with our state-of-the-art classrooms, is just what parents today are searching for. Children 5 - 12 years of age will have a special classroom specifically designed to meet their developmental level. Elementary children will enjoy our thematic approach using Creative Resources. The lesson plans are developed to enhance their education in a fun environment after school. As children explore the high-interest themes, they will experience subjects throughout the year that will establish concrete knowledge that makes the learning meaningful. With everything that we do at our new facility our parents will not only love but they will enjoy the learning experiences their children will get to achieve on a daily bases. Some come on down and be a part of our wonderful family we would love to have you.

We have incorporated a monthly calendar. Each parent may take this home to give them an idea of the theme that we will be doing each week, any important dates that are coming up, and any reminders that may be needed.…

I blended easily with the other employees because most of them were college students as well. When I arrived at 8:00 a.m., the center only served a few children at a time; however, by 10:00 a.m. the room was filled every day to the max capacity (30 students). As a volunteer, I moreso played with the children, kept them on track for any activities that may have occurred, and even read them a story for storytime. Although I was not able to play a huge role amongst the students, I observed a variety of behaviors of both the students and their leaders that easily connected with the topics of this…
