How to Tie a Tie There are many different ways you can prepare for a job interview. The most crucial part of preparing for a job interview is dressing for success. The goal of dressing for success is making a strong first impression. You want the interviewer to instantly like you and think about you for hours or even days after the interview. In this segment, I will be giving you instructions on how to tie a tie for your interview. If you follow my steps, you will learn how to tie the perfect neck tie. First, you should pick up your collar and wrap the tie around the back of your neck. The wide end of the tie should hang down about twice as low as the thin end. Depending on what is more comfortable to you, it can hang closer to your right or left hand. Second, wrap the wide end around the thin end twice, a few inches below your neck. Make sure the wide end goes over the thin end first. Third, after wrapping the wide end around for the second time; push it through the back of the V-shape made by the partially formed knot. Tuck the wide end of the tie through the front loop of the knot. Fourth, gently pull down on both the thin and wide ends below the knot until the knot is tight. Fifth, hold the thin end of the tie while you slide the knot slowly up to your neck. WORKS
