Finding Your Life's Work And Say Goodbye To Career Planning Analysis
The two videos of “Finding Your Life’s Work” and “Say Goodbye to Career Planning” are both similar and different. For example, both videos talked about career planning and career paths, and how you can control your own pathway to success. Tim Clarke in his video talked about how towards the end when his career was truly coming together, he talked about how he created a “personal business model” for himself, which provided the clarity he needed to become successful and happy with what he was doing. Clarke also encouraged the audience to create a personal business model for ourselves, and to use our experiences to put forth our best selves to be successful. I could identify with two personality types that Holland describes. I am artistic and I am enterprising. The characteristics that he describes fit my personality. I agree with the likes and dislikes of the characteristics too. I have had jobs as a model, marketer, public relations, radio and TV personality, manager, insurance agent, and retail sales. All of these jobs are jobs that he lists as matching careers.…

On the first day of the communication week we were introduced to the ‘Four P’s of Success’ framework to help us find the right career. Our group spent a session on one of the P’s namely Passion. We used a funnel approach starting from broader interests narrowing it down to our passions, before finalizing on a singular item that we could relate to and communicate effectively. There was a common thread linking a lot of my interests which culminated in the final selection of ‘identifying trends/making forecasts’ as a passion for me. One of the reasons I cherish my old job was that I had a chance to work in the strategy/business side for a bank during the recession which helped me use this quite regularly.…
