    Why Cosmetology

Firstly, my choice to be a Cosmetologist has been an on-going interest of mine since I was about four years old. At that time , when I was four years old, I was in the bath at my Aunt Rhoda’s backwoods farm house. She had heard a gunshot , so she went to check where the gun shot had come from. When doing so , she had left her razor for shaving her legs on the bathtub shelf. I grabbed it, being the curious child I was, and shaved off my eye brow. Another reason I chose to be a Cosmetologist is because when I was about 7 years old my parents bought me tons of Barbie dolls to play with and ruin. One day when we were at Toys ‘R’ Us I saw a huge Barbie doll head without a body that you could do her hair. So as most kids my age , I begged them to buy it for me., but they ended up buying me two of them one for Christmas and one for my birthday. After I got the dolls I played with them almost every day and attempted to braid their hair. I also washed their hair when I was in the bath tub. That is one reason why I chose to be in Cosmetology at ICTC.…

Growing up, I had no idea what I wanted to do for the rest of my life. My whole world evolved around sports, but I knew the chances of making money playing a sport were slim. My father owns a pipeline business, and my mom owns a boutique shop so I knew I would go into a business management plan. At ten years old, my father always took me to work with him on the weekends. That was one of the best things I got; young experience is what I needed. He taught me to operate heave machinery, mix concrete, work on pipelines; moreover, he taught me what it takes to be a self-mannered, respectful employee. Since then, I knew what to do with my life and I am very lucky to have such inspirational parents to motivate me for my goal in life. I look up to them in so many ways and appreciate all they have done for my siblings and I. Hopefully, I can provide for my family like my father has for ours.…

It is not, however, the only aspect of being a doctor. Being a doctor is like being a superhero. Human lives literally lie in the hands of doctors - this can be a wonderful thing or a terrible thing depending on the person. One bad decision can lead to a person dying and this is the aspect of the medical career path most doctors do not seem to talk about. Sure, the salary is great and it surely allows for bragging rights, but being a doctor is slightly terrifying. It is a job that demands a high-level of confidence and concentration. One should become a doctor with the best intention - to help people. If one becomes a doctor because they want to make a lot of money, there is no ambition to actually help people get better and more patients suffer because of this. Doctors are always needed; the job opportunities are not scarce. As long as you are good at what you do and enjoy doing it, a career in medicine will be wonderful in the long…
