Zumba vs Yoga
Do you want to reduce your stress, improve your health, and get in shape? Are you unsure of what your options may be? Zumba and yoga are two popular fitness classes that you can take to have fun and get in shape. Choose yoga if you want to increase your flexibility and strength while burning fat, or choose Latin dancing Zumba for more focus on your cardio fitness. They are both beneficial in different ways, physically improving you as well as providing great health benefits.
Zumba is a fitness program inspired by hot Latin style dancing. The exercises include Hip-hop, Salsa, Mambo, and Samba. Zumba is a fast-paced and high energy workout for people who love to dance. Zumba workouts have a high-energy ''party'' feel to them which gives you that extra boost to get through the class. I remember the first Zumba class in which I ever set foot at Bailey's Powerhouse Gym. The instructor was so full of energy and the room was over flowing with girls and a few guys shaking their hips and laughing over pulsing Latin and hip-hop beats. When the first song started, I wondered what I had gotten myself into, and thought about how I could get out of this class quickly, but I decided to stick it out .When class ended, I walked out drenched in sweat with a smile on my face. I thought “that was the best workout class ever,” and I couldn't wait for the next Zumba class to begin. The class was 60 minutes of sweaty adrenaline fun. Working out could be both productive and fun. Zumba has made me start to view exercise as a hobby rather than a chore. Since that class two years ago, I've taken Zumba many times with many different instructors. I've taken some amazing classes that were fun, entertaining, and so enjoyable that I lost track of time. There also were some miserable classes with a poor instructor, no one is enjoying themself, and time lags in the longest hour of my life. Some advice for a beginner: if you try Zumba for the first time and hate it, take it again

Bravery is not inherent, it is rather acquired from the circumstances or situation faced in the life. People face lot of problems in their lives and to cope with those situations and move in with one's life is the sheer example of being brave. The same has been depicted by both the authors in their respective books. First by Kaye Gibbons in her very famous book "Ellen Foster" where in the protagonist is shown as homeless girl with no one to take care of, yet she finds a way to live her life and find herself a house worth living. Second, by Mark twain in his book "Adventures of Huckleberry" where in again the protagonist is full of determination and he is brave not only to get himself out of the miserable situations but he also helped his friend Jim by rescuing him.…

Young men who are sent to a war learn the reality in a very harsh and brutal way. Both the stories, ‘The Red Convertible’ and ‘The Things They Carried’ portray the life of a young soldier and how he psychologically gets affected from all the things he had seen in the war. Tim O’Brien’s ‘The Things They Carried,’ is more specific on the experiences of a soldier during a war where as Karen Louise Erdrich focuses more on describing the post war traumatic stress in her short story ‘The Red Convertible’. One thing similar in both the narrations is the Vietnam War and its consequences on the soldiers. From the background of both the authors it’s easy to conclude that Tim O’Brien being a war veteran emphasizes more on the war scenes where as Louise Erdrich focuses mainly on the life inside the reservations, which makes sense as she has a Native American ancestry.…

The baker in “A Small Good Thing” by Raymond Carver caught my attention from the beginning of the story. He was abrupt with Ann, but it felt like there were reasons that would be explained soon why he was this way. The initial impression I got from him wasn’t likeable but as I got further into the story, there was a spark of compassion in this man that I could relate to. The bakers harassing tendencies and social isolation as a person are not traits I exhibit, where as his strong sense of compassion and emotion is where I can relate more to.…

As I said before, I expected to just learn the basic poses. However, I didn’t expect to learn the actual names of the poses or what the purpose of each pose was; I never realized there was a reason to each pose or any actual benefit. I didn’t expect to be using so many different muscles that I would be sore the next day and would be able to repeat the poses without any further instruction. I came into this class expecting it to be easy in the sense that the poses would be done once and then forgotten but I’ve learned that we need to continuously do the poses in order to understand the meaning and reap the benefits and gain the strength. This class is very different than any other fitness classes I have taken at Temple because I can take the poses and techniques I have learned in class and bring them to my home and outside class to practice. I knew yoga was about relaxing and finding a center but I didn’t expect to find a calmness and feel so relaxed after each class and after every time I participate in yoga.…
